Hesaragatta Lake and Grasslands Ride

We had Guru, Atheet, Aditya Mishra and Adithya Rao riding with us for the first time. After Introductions and shaking hands, we started our 17km ride to the Hesaragatta lake.. The weather was just right as it had rained the previous day. We reached the lake at 7:45 am and rode right into the middle where there was a small patch of water. ‘We are on the lake’ joked Manoj as we were gazing across an almost empty stretch of red land.
We spent some time over there, interacted with each other, shared a few laughs, took some pictures and headed towards the grassland which was 4kms ahead.. Using Gmaps we came to the entrance of grasslands whose gates were unfortunately closed. We asked around and came to know that there is another way to reach the grasslands through a resort, we took that route, but hard luck! The gates were closed over there too.
While returning on the same path, we came across a group of people with a Ducati XDiavel. Boy! What a bike that is! The owner was generous to allow us click a few pictures with it as we discussed bike specifications.
Thanking the Ducati owner, we headed back towards the lake. This time we went to another part where in we could stand at the top and look at the lake below. We stayed for half an hour, clicked few pictures, admired the view and praised the weather.
We had breakfast on the way back and over plates of masala dosas, we had Atheet tell us about his past ride experiences. We ended the discussion with our future plans.
We returned back to Bangalore, parted ways assuring each other to stay in touch and to meet again in the close future. Our next trip will be a cycle trip. We will put up the details on the page shortly. Stay tuned.
