Maldives!! What can I say about this paradise that is not already said!! This was my husband and my first trip outside India and we spent days researching about the islands and resorts before finally booking. We chose Olhuveli Island Resort and Spa for our stay. We flew from Bangalore with a stopover at Kochi. Landed in Male and were transferred to our resort in speed boat. Excitement was mounting in me as we sailed towards our island. First glimpse of the island mesmerised me. I had never seen such a beautiful island before and turquoise waters all around me. The next five days still seem dreamy and out of the world.

Our sunset water villa was luxurious with an outdoor jacuzzi over-looking endless turquoise waters. I basked in the Maldivian sun, snorkelled to my heart's content, swam with beautiful fish and did my first scuba dive. Everyone's first dive is special, I guess. I saw so many colourful fish at the house reef, saw many turtles and a baby shark. I also saw an octopus change its colours upon nearing it. Spent quiet evenings with my husband watching sunset and the island resort glow up with beautiful colourful lights as the night began. We took a dolphin ride - although we didn't spot one, the sunset was gorgeous. We absolutely enjoyed the serene beauty of picture perfect Olhuveli island.

We are definitely going back to Maldives, this time planning to explore one of the distant islands in a guesthouse kind of accommodation amidst local people. :)
