North east has been the most untouched mountain range explored by the travellers specially Arunachal Pradesh . There are many waow! places in arunachal pradesh like , Tawang , walong , ziro , changlang , miao Etc . And then comes Mechuka , a small town also known as Mechuka valley which is in west siang district of arunachal pradesh. Its 6700ft above sea level . The Best place a true mountain lover can get . Few miles away from china border .
we had one of the best road trips till now . Mechuka was just Waow! will keep you updating with more unexplored and beautiful places .
lets start! My first reaction to my co driver , road trips are the most memorable trips in your life time . we started at 6 in the morning from itanagar . The route to mechuka is like first you have to touch Aalo also known as Along . There are 3 routs to Aalo 1] via ziro 2]via likhabali 3]via passighat we opted the likhabali one as its shorter but if you want waow! scenic view you should go through passighat . it took us Approx 7 Hours to reach there , its Advised to take a night rest in Aalo because the distance from Aalog to Mechuka is 212 kms and it will take more than 6 hrs to reach there and to all those people who love driving in mountains this terrain is one of the best and adventurous . There are places to see in aalo , also like you should must visit siang river . Hear some stories from there local people about the river , the best time to be there is during sunrise and sunset .
we started at 6 in the morning ! the weather was awesome . scenic view while driving to mechuka is just Waow! small villages , tribal huts , orange trees . on the way we got A huge Waterfall named siko dido waterfall. a must stop place ! there is small cafe which provides Maggie ,coffee and some of the local foods . As we crossed the water fall it took us another 3 to 4 hours to reach mechuka . The breadth of the road kept on decreasing we could see more and more Army trucks .** note [there is not even a single petrol pump on this route] . [If its raining keep your fingers crossed because any time there can be a landslide . keep your stepney tire in good condition]**. As we approached mechuka , 10 to 15 kms before we could see huge mountains covered with snow . After a long refreshing drive of 7 hrs we reached mechuka .

The morning is Must Watch ! we took a small trek to a mountain from where you can see the whole mechuka town and the airfield . **[china border is just 29 km away from mechuka but you need to take special permission from the district magistrate a day before. ] we went to china border the same day as there is very strict checking done by the army people . we had some good moments with them and a cup of tea in the cold weather. when we were returning back mechuka , we saw a mountain in which face of lord hanuman is Naturally there since Ages . After this point we went to shri gurudwara sahib , maintained by the Army people . the best lunch you can get! langer || as there is not any stop to eat. There is a Taposthan 1 km from the guruduara its said that Guru Gobind Singh Ji meditated at that point while he was on his Parikrama . {A must Visit Spot . And if you can meditate there for few minutes you will also feel that high energy.} we meditated there for few minutes . it was evening and the Moon was about to come .we were back to our stay **{ There are no hotels in mechuka , there are some home stays and one pwd IB which you have to check if its booked or not , the best option is pwd IB but if its not available home stays are also Good}.
The Next day we had a trek to Texas garden . That is a huge plantation of A medicinal plant used for breast cancer . Owned by An Ex -Army personal. the weather was Awesome little bit of mist and cold breeze . After that we had a hunt on some of the shops in the town and interacted with the local peoples. At last in the evening we went to the old monestry and had A good tym .
