As the temperature in the Middle East rises, immersing yourself in a water park seems to be the ultimate solace. Thankfully, United Arab Emirates is equipped with plenty of options in this department; for people to soak their limbs, throwing a tinge of adrenaline rush their way.

Below are 6 water themed parks we absolutely love for various reasons. You can choose your pick and make a trip of it because the temperatures definitely seem to be rising!

Wild Wadi Water park is brimming with adventure and leisure all at once. Themed around the tale of Juha, a well-known character from the Arabian folklore this playground and it’s 30 rides are perfect to bask under the sun with spurts of adrenaline rush. Housing Dubai’s highest ride at 33 metres off the ground, Jumeirah Sceirah has you stepping into a launch chamber which then vertically rockets you to the bottom. Other adrenaline spunking favourites to watch out for are Burj Surj, Wipeout Flowrider and Master Blasters. For some laidback amusement , toss yourself into the lazy river and gently fight the waves at the wave pool. Fun fact : Wild Wadi is home to Breakers Bay, the largest wave pool in the Middle East, producing 1.5 m (4.9 ft) waves in 5 different configurations.

If you're going with kids, you have Juha’s Dhow and Lagoon specially designed with over 100 activities to keep them entertained. In case you want to grab a bite in between all the fun, there are two big restaurants and a numbers of kiosks amply distributed around the park. With 12 acres of slides, rides and more, your experience at Wild Wadi is bound to be enthralling and memorable. Not to forget the visual treat it is, with Burj Al Arab adorning its background.

Located inside Atlantis The Palm, Aquaventure is the largest water-themed attraction in Dubai. It uses 750,000 litres of fresh water per minute to power seven waterslides, waves pools, water rapids and white water chargers.

An all day entrance ticket allows you to spend a leisurely day soaking in water, be it on a ride or on the lazy river that takes you up to your ride. Unlike most water parks, Aquaventure does not require one to take a steep walk up to their rides. You can go from ride to ride on a lazy pool and a steep escalator of sorts take you right up to the top from where you can whizz down slides. The adrenaline junkies have a plethora to explore. The Tower of Neptune, Leap of Faith sliding into a shark lagoon, the Tower of Poseidon, The Aquaconda; Zoomerango , multi-track Slitherine and lastly the Poseidon’s Revenge, where the floor collapses under your feet to plunge you downward, or ride a raft through a shark tunnel at Shark Attack.

Kids have a dedicated area called the Splasher's Play Area with safe water jets, tipping buckets, kiddy pools and slides. They have ample safety measures here, so you can leave your kids here under the supervision of well trained life guards and enjoy the rides,tension free.

If you are in the mood for a luxurious stint here, you could hire a luxury VIP beach Cabana at an extra cost and enjoy exotic meals and drinks(extra cost) while you relax in your cabanas.

Yas Waterworld, an Emirati- themed water park is a haven for chills , thrills and splashes and home to 45 rides, slides and water themed attractions.

Some of the star attractions here are the Liwa Loop, Bubbles Barrel , Water Bomber Roller Coaster, Falcon's Falaj and Sebag water race track. If you're not up for high intensity sides, you can also grab a tube and float around Al Raha River, the lazy river. There is also a Tot’s Playground for the tiny ones with kid friendly slides and pools.

There are plenty of refreshments and restaurants around the park with options ranging from burgers to BBQ chicken wings to pizza and even Indian food. If you're in the mood for just popcorn, juice and light bites, kiosks are in plenty too.

One of UAE's oldest water parks in the quiet emirate of Umm Al Quain, Dreamland was much ahead of its time when it started off. Though the rides are not as edgy as the new parks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it has an old world charm which makes this park very affable. Apart from the water rides, Dreamland houses a mini zoo and a sports arena which allows you to play tennis, volleyball etc. Another star attraction here s the Swim Up Pool Bar which is touted to be the largest in UAE and serves outstanding cocktails.

Iceland is UAE’s largest waterpark located in the furthest Emirate Ras Al Khaimah, which is around a an hours's drive from Dubai. Going to Ice Land feels like you are stepping into the set of Ice Age, minus the characters.

With over 30 exciting slides, a gigantic wave pool, an Olympic sized lap pool, a serene beach sprinkled with high end private cabanas and a kids entertainment area is the perfect place to spend a day with your family.

Amongst the assortment of rides they have, Penguin Bay,rain dance pool, Aqua Soccer playground, Coral Isle, a snorkeling pool, Arctic Wave Pool, Tundra Baths, Mount Attack and Mount Tempest are the best of the lot.

LEGOLAND Water Park, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts is themed around the popular building block franchise, Lego and is a part of the bigger LEGOLAND Theme Park. It is specially designed for kids aged 2-12 and their families. Featuring over 20 rides based on characters from LEGO movies and toys, this park allows kids to build their own raft and float around the lazy river, go on a splash safari, or ride on the Joker Soaker.

This water-park is an innovative space soaked with adventure and fun for kids and families alike. However, teenagers and young adults may find it a tad bit boring.
