Today is the see-off day, and I want to contemplate on our journey together. Most of today will be spent in looking back at this amazing journey we've had. And trying to acclimatize back to the plains. I swear it isn't easy. But let's start our day!
I woke up on a bouncy mattress in a hotel room at Chandigarh, much different than the dorms we've had in the mountains. All of us would be parting ways today, going back to what we usually call home. I wanted to have Chole Kulche for breakfast. But couldn't find it at the location since it's a lazy Sunday. So we rather had Chhole Bature from the shop we found, and it was one of the yummiest I've had. I even packed some for my mum back in Ahmedabad, who's crazy for North side ke Chole.
After our goodbye session, I booked a cab to the Chandigarh Airport. After a series of events over there, I was in a state of deep discomfort, imagining where had I come. Since the last few weeks I was traveling across and living in the mountains, where even without masks people would welcome you with warm hugs. Over here in the plains, even after me wearing the whole PPE kit, people didn't even want to strike a conversation. I wonder what kind of infection would spread from 2 layers of masks topped with 2 layers of face shields.
In the mountains, even the 8 hour bus journeys were peaceful. Over here, I became restless in 1.5 hours of flight. I was wondering why is the airplane going so slow, while in reality it was me who were in a haste to get off it. On the Ahmedabad Airport, I got my antigen test done. Fortunately, it came out to be negative. That means we had a happy and safe journey, our 16-Day Workation is successful, yayyyyyy!
Musings
Today's musings are more like a gratitude note. We've had an absolutely amazing journey together, and I want to celebrate that! I started this series to relive the whole experience, but on the way I found some beautiful companions like you. Living this with you guys have given me newer perspectives to the experiences I've had.
Thank you for being patient enough to listen to my ever-going stories, and kind enough to be there and see it all through my narratives. Thank you so so much for becoming an indispensable part of this amazing journey. And I've never told you this, but if you've had an awesome journey, share it to someone who'd love to take on this Bon Voyage.
