A life in and around Uttarakhand, well that's right this story is about happening, coolest, gangamayya, jhula's and calm place to be in Rishikesh and Haridwar.
We departed from Dehradun early morning 6 am to Rishikesh.
Way of Travel :
By Air : Get down at DEHRADUN Airport, it lies between Dehradun city and close to Rishikesh.
By Train : Get down at Haridwar Station. Catch bus to Rishikesh which is opposite to station and is every 30 mins frequently.
Travel time is max 1 to 1.5 hours.
From Dehradun it took almost similar time around 1.5 hrs to reach, the way is surrounded by beautiful greenery and neat roads.
We were a group of 4, decided to stay at bunkstays to experience the life of backpackers, to meet strangers and to be at own comfort zone (relax and calm).
Location : Backside of Laxman jhula
Cost : 500 Rs/ head with complimentary breakfast for dormitory room.
From there we rented two - wheeler activa for 400 Rs /day.
Travelled in and around Rishikesh, got dipped in Ganga river, shopped near laxman jhula shops, had local food at dhabas.
Evening we have been to Karma Cafe in Rishikesh which is a great place to have food surrounded by peaceful ambience.
Also been to temples around, rested at bunkstays and at night enjoyed its Cafe to get relax, food, talk and get to know different people.
Next day in afternoon we travelled to Haridwar which took more than 1 hour drive to reach.
On arrival went for Udan katola ropeway to Maa Manasadevi and Chandi devi temple.
Evening sharp 6 pm Ganga Aarti is performed at Haridwar Har ki Pauri which every tourist is attended and is blessed with purity of Ganga maaya.
You must travel Rishikesh and Haridwar once in your life to feel touch to our soul, mind and body by its purity.
