Day 1

It is said that the beauty of mountains enhance by three times in monsoon, which is why traveling to mountains in monsoon is worthwhile. It is the time when the nature's brightness is lowered and contrast is set to the highest, which is the most preferable ratio for our pictures ready to be posted on social media(without filters). Greens are greener and blue sky becomes grey with formations of giant cotton like clouds. Roads are more black and clear, intensifying the view of valley.

How difficult it is to find a place not so far from Delhi NCR, suitable for a weekend road trip, with some breathtaking views and beautiful roads.
Looking for a weekend trip where you can simply sit back, relax, sip a cup of tea and see beautiful views from your hotel's balcony, Dhanaulti in Uttarakhand got you covered.
Not so far from Mussoorie, one of the most touristy place in Uttarakhand. Being spoiled by big concrete buildings and tourists all around, Mussoorie was not our kind of spot.

Me and my brother initiated our weekend trip to Dhanaulti on July 5, we were quite sceptical about the time we were traveling as it was monsoon and the biggest risk was the landslide which has been a common scenario in mountains. We were glad that we didn't step back and executed our plan. We started early morning at 4am from delhi as we wanted to reach our destination as soon as possible and we reached our hotel in Dhanaulti around 10 am.

Roads, one of the best part of our trip, they were so clean that we couldn't resist ourselves capturing them throughout our journey.

Hotel we booked offered some best views of valley and had great rooms too, the one we booked was very spacious and clean.
We spent all our day watching the nature playing with our minds, It was hard for me to believe that all this was reality or its just chemical Locha in my mind.
There was a point when whole valley was covered by giant clouds and we were looking at it from above, it was something we hadn't seen before. Nature was at it's best and we were quite enjoying that.
We had some great Garhvali food at the hotel, had some conversations and we went to bed as we had some great plans for next day.

The manager here (Sanjay) and the staff of the hotel were very welcoming and friendly, they were taking care of all our needs.
Highly recommended, if you are traveling to Dhanaulti, they do have separate cottages for couples traveling to Dhanaulti and they also have budget friendly rooms, suitable for everyone.

Day 2

The moment I woke up next morning I was literally stunned by what my eyes were looking at, as I was not expecting this much scenic morning view from my room's window, yes it was a "Good morning". Walked out of my room and I was able to clearly see Himalayan Ranges, I was told that those were the mighty Gangotri, Badrinath, Kedarnath and Nanda devi peaks, by the time we were talking about those Himalayan Ranges they disappeared into the clouds and we decided to move on and head towards what we had planned.

Plan was to visit Surkanda Devi temple which was around 7 km away from our hotel and 1 km walk from parking area. Temple was at a great elevation, it offered views of Himalayan range but due to clouds we were not able to see the views, but the vibes of this place was the best part, sound of ringing bells and pilgrims chanting "Jai Mata Di", there was an isolation I felt and I was just sitting by the side and soaking those positive vibes from the environment. After spending some time enjoying the serenity of Mata Surkanda Devi temple we headed back to our hotel,
the place was worth a visit and highly recommend to those who are traveling to Dhanaulti.

It was drizzling all day long and we needed some rest. So, we decided to just relax and enjoy the weather,  sung some songs and enjoyed our last night in Dhanaulti.

Stunned by the view

Day 3

Again waking up with some beautiful views, it was hard to say goodbye to Dhanaulti, we started our journey back to Delhi at 11am and while we were on our way yo Delhi, we stopped by a place near Dehradun for lunch and the view was amazing we could see the entire Dehradun city from above.
We reached Delhi at around 10 Pm, as were stuck in traffic jam for so long near Haridwar.

But at the end of the day when we reached our home, we had so many memories to share and stories to tell, I still don't have any idea how to explain the feeling of being confused about the nature's play.

Blue sky gives me a smile
