There is no bigger joy for a rider than to slowly drive on a windy hill road, cool breeze kissing your forehead and humming in your ears, songs of the wild brooks. Yes, wild brooks than you can hear in a distance but you can't see beyond the dense foliage, but the sound is inviting.
Ever since I moved to Hyderabad, I have missed my bike rides to Himalayas. But as a rider I soon got to know about the Ananthagiri Hills in Vikarabad, just a 2 hours ride from hyderabad, if you know how to sing along with the roads. If you are a slow rider, it might take up to 3 hours. But, trust me, it will be an amazing experience with all that surrounding. What else does a rider like me needs? Just a bullet, my helmet and my knee guards! Safety, you know!
Now, don't get me wrong, these hills are no match for the mighty Himalayas, but they have their own charm.
I also stopped on my way to click some pictures and also to get the taste of the sweet tea you get on the dhabas along the road. On my way I found a beautiful spread of oak trees! If you want good picture you can surely stop there.
You can do this trip in one day or if you want to wake to chirping of birds, you can stay there in one of the resorts and enjoy the scenic view.
Once I reached Ananthagiri, I went for hiking in the woods nearby till the edge of the valley and then stared at the beautiful sky.
Overall, it was a fun trip that I will remember for a long time to come!
