Started in the morning at around 9.30 am for Amritsar for half a day visit to Amritsar by cab. It was a beautiful sunny day. Such a glorious day in Dalhousie that I was in no mood to leave it, but the excitement to witness the Golden temple was driving me crazy.

On the way, you will see Chamera lake from distance while driving down from Dalhousie towards Pathankot. We stopped at a resort in Pathankot for some refreshments. The resort was nice and was more of city type.

You come via Gurdaspur before entering Amritsar. Truly Punjab Di mitti feeling on the highways.
Reached the Golden temple at around 2 pm , went straight to langar in the temple premises and couldn't get courage to queue up for 2-3 hours under sun to enter main temple. Also, time was an issue, as we also had planned to visit Wagah border ceremony in the evening. I was so mesmerized to see such a clean and well maintained temple premises. Thousands have Langar everyday yet no mismanagement nor any mishaps.

Our local driver had asked us to come back to the temple parking before to reach Wagah border on time.
Make sure to reach Wagah border by 4.15 pm latest as the retreat ceremony starts at 5 pm dot and no one is allowed after 4.30 pm.
The flag down ceremony is watched daily by thousands and the Indian side is so loud and enchanting that you won't feel the scorching sun shining above you for even a moment.

Stopped at a Punjabi dhaba for some refreshments on our way back to the Golden temple. Had lassi, chai and pakode.

Recharged our batteries and queued up and finally after hours of waiting, made to the main temple at around 9.30 pm. The inside was so peaceful and holy that I lost track of time.
Absolute breathtaking night scenes and so divine, such a beauty of a place that you can't get enough of it. Finally spending the entire evening at the Golden temple, chwcked into a hotel at night around 11pm.
With a heavy heart, boarded the next day early morning Shatabdi express to Delhi to bring down the curtains of one helluva trip.
