Hey Everyone! Thanks for showing your interest in another fresh travel blog of mine which is about our Hyderabad trip in 2014. Here, I have included information about some of the famous places of this Capital city in Telengana and I hope you will enjoy reading it.
Hyderabad, also know as the city of pearl, is famous for its rich history, finger-licking food and multi-lingual culture. We were able to believe in all these after we explored different parts of the city in our 5 days Stay-cation.
1. Charminar
Constructed on: 1591
Type: Historical Monument
Other Popular Names: βArc de Triomphe of the Eastβ , βMosque of the four minaretsβ
Entry Fee: Rs.5/- per Person for Indians and Rs.100/- per Person for Foreign Nationals
Places to visit near Charminar: Laad Bazaar (Old city) for shopping, Mecca Masjid (ancient mosque), Chow Mohalla Palace (10 minutes walk from CharMinar)
2. Salar Jung Museum
Founded on: 1951
Type: Museum
Named after: Nawab Mir Yousuf Khan (Salar Jung III)
Inaugurated by: Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru
Entry Fee: INR 10 (Adults), INR 5 (Children) for Indians and INR 150 for Foreigners
What you can see inside: 38 galleries having 43,000 art objects, 47,000 books and 9,000 manuscripts from different parts of the world + Reading Room+ Clock Room which displays an amazing collection of clocks right from the sundials to the modern timepieces.
3. Lumbini Park
Type: Park and Amusement
Named After: Lumbini of Nepal dedicated to Lord Buddha
Entry Fee: INR 10
Laser show Ticket Price: INR 50
Special attraction: Musical fountain, Laser show
4. Hussain Sagar
Type: Lake connecting Secunderabad and Hyderabad, The largest artificial lake in Asia.
Special Attraction: Huge statue of standing Lord Buddha at the middle of the lake
Entry Fee: No entry Fee

INR 55 per Adult for mechanised Boat
INR 35 per Adult for mechanised Boat
INR 250 per Person for Jet Ski Boat
INR 300 per Couple for Jet Ski Boat

5. Birla Mandir
Type: Hindu & Buddhist Temple
Opened on: 1976
Dedicated to: Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala Tirupati Temple.
Entry Fee: No entry fee
Special Attraction: Unique Architecture, Made from 2000 tonnes of white marble which was brought from Rajasthan.
