Bangalore to Mysuru
Onward start Time : 5am
Return home reached : Midnight 1am
We started early morning to ensure that we could cover the day trip to Mysuru and return back on the same day.
Route Taken : Attibelle - NICE road Electronics City - Mysuru road.
The road to Mysuru from Bangalore is getting laid as a six lane highway and is bound to ease travel time once done.
The highway is not to be missed for having Thatte idlies.
Place -1 : Chamundeswari hill temple :
We reached chamundeswari temple around 9.30am and went directly for temple dharshan with Rs 100/- tickets. The waiting time to reach the diety from the queue start was about 1.5hrs (being a weekend ,Saturday). We took nice photos with temple as background and took the delicious laddu as prasadam.
Since the temple visit took some time out of the day, we next headed for lunch at Shilpa mess. (Good option of home style food)
Place-2 : Mysuru Palace
The palace was the next choice of place to visit and the entire palace visit took almost 1.5hrs , thanks to the neatly laid out routing in the palace.
Place-3 : Rail Museum
We visited the rail museum and was amazed to see the cleanliness and variety of train coaches in the museum. The toy train ride finishes the museum visit with a kid like experience.
Place-4 : KRS Dam
We moved out of Mysuru around 5pm , to reach the KRS dam in the day light time. The dam was in its full capacity and we witnessed majestic release of water with great force through the gates of the dam.
Place-5 : Brindhavan Garden
We managed to reach the Brindavan garden with a point to catch the musical light show. Unfortunately the show was cancelled due to water over flow. We enjoyed some relaxed time at the wide and greenary south garden. Now may be we have another point to visit this place for witnessing the musical-light-water show.
The entire day of visit was done as per the plan and we finished having dinner in the road side shops at Brindhavan Garden.
Then, followed Google map to get connected with the Bangalore route and reached back home in Bangalore at night 1pm.
