Almost a year back, I came across this place over the internet. But never heard any of my friends mentioning it. For most of them seemed clueless. But, I had already made my plans to visit it soon.
And that’s exactly what I did in one of the last weekends. Mayura River View is the hidden treasure that I am going to take you across; obviously a visual retreat. Hoping that you will soon visit it!
Just a couple of hours drive from Bangalore, located aptly on the bank of the Kaveri river, this is a perfect place to rejuvenate our mind and soul and be amidst the warmth of nature. You can sit beside the river, paddle your feet in the water, sight some beautiful birds, sing along with them, or just go around watching the animals of their farm.
Their tariffs are pretty reasonable. In fact, the location, ambiance, and a litter of four beautiful furry puppies are worth every bit for the visit.
The cottages overlook the river. The resort also houses some executive AC rooms; every room having a balcony that too overlooks the river. Rest assured, to feel the calmness of the tall trees, and listen to the ripples of Kaveri.
This place is also famous for a day-outing. For if you do not wish to stay back for a night, you could well spend the day sitting by the river and having some delicious food. Keep a note if you are a fish lover! Their fish items are extremely popular. Why won’t they be? You can’t get fish any fresher than what they serve. For they are caught directly from the Kaveri river, cooked and served on to your plate.
Not just that, the resort has a boat housed on the bank of the river, all day long. They charge Rs. 100 per person and take you along with the river. The rate might seem a bit higher for few, but then, the boatman takes you quite far. Far enough to pluck the yellow flowers from the bushes on the other side, listen to the bees buzzing around them, see the cranes and herons sitting on the farthest rock, pecking on the fishes. A perfect option for you to click some amazing pics.
Who doesn’t love playing in the water? Get into the water, balance yourself well, or just sit on a boulder dipping your feet. Do whatever you wish to; just get into the flowing water.
I immensely loved that evening. Cozily sitting in one of the steps, playing with the puppies moving around, feeling the chill coming down, sipping onto a cup of hot tea. Did I say that their onion pakoras are worth ordering? Well! now you know it.
Early morning is the perfect time for bird lovers. With the Ranganthittu bird sanctuary at stone’s throw, varieties of birds often flock in. Get that DSLR camera of yours, get a position, and capture some amazing pics.
The area around the resort is also a good option for a morning walk.
Our stay came to an end after the breakfast. We left for Bangalore having spent a nice time by the river; with plans to come back soon!
