There are many Indians who opt for an English vacation for reasons clear. Either they have relative or children studying in the UK, and if not, Indians laud London as their favourite international city for family holidays. UK Government's notification is out that fully vaccinated Indians flying to the UK shall no longer need a mandatory 10-day hotel quarantine as India has moved from the country's "red" to "amber" list.

Cotswolds’ butter-hued countryside, the wild yet scenic coastal drives to Dover and Somerset, buzzing surf scenes of Cornwall and Brighton and long green walks and pub lunches at London are now open for Indians. Woo-hoo! Let's get going for the UK visas!

What are the travel norms now b/w India and Britain?

Indians visiting the UK will need to take a Covid test within 72 hours prior to the flight and book in advance for two other Covid tests to be taken on arrival. Further, arriving passengers are required to fill in locator form on arrival in England.

Indian nationals can now quarantine at a location of their choice for 10 days after arriving in the UK. What a relief it's no more in a hotel if you have any other lodging options.

However, they will keep the option to "Test to Release" after five days of quarantine. Good news in a way, after five full days, travellers can end their quarantine taking the private Covid test and returning negative.

As per reports, UAE, Qatar, India and Bahrain have moved from red to amber list. All changes shall come into effect Sun 8th August at 4am, UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps tweeted.

UK shall exempt travellers who have received both their doses from home quarantine and India-manufactured Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine Covishield is likely to be covered under this exemption, as per reports.

Though the threat of a third-wave is still looming large, there is always a silver lining that is to say over 68% of UK adults are fully vaccinated and India's case count showing a slowdown, Indians across England and at home has been waiting for this day for long.
