We are starting Driving from Basti to Darjeeling by the self Car. When we are reaching in Bihar Forbesganj then time is approx 11 pm then we decide to stay their for whole Night. And then we looking a suitable hotel for stay. By the help of Goibibo we found a hotel , Hotel BalaJi International Rs.700 per night double bed Room. (Basti To Forbesganj = 540 KM)
FORBESGANJ TO DARJEELING
We got up early in the morning around 6:00 a.m. Then we had breakfast and around 7:00 a.m. we left for the journey ahead.After we had eaten food around 1 p.m. at a place on the way, we continued the journey ahead, because we left early in the morning. So we reached Darjeeling in the evening via Siliguri.When we were climbing above the Chaurastha, it seemed as we were going through the clouds.(Let me tell you one more thing here. Before reaching Darjeeling, the local police stopped us at the check post at one place, they checked all the papers of our car which were all correct. He then said that it is not a car to your house, so you will have to pay an invoice of ₹ 600. He used to say that you have to get a permit made from someone who has this car. Which is made on a 100 rupee stamp paper, Then after much debate we had to submit the challan and when we asked for a copy of the challan, he refused to give it. Then we take a photo of the challan and entered Darjeeling.) By the way, that car belonged to my actual Mama Ji. I submitted here the photo of challan and photo of check post. And then we take a hotel and stayed for the night.When we were searching for the hotel, it was raining heavily at the same time. It seemed as Darjeeling wanted to welcome us wholeheartedly. Hotel room price 1200 for a complete hall for 5 persons.(Forbesganj to Darjeeling = 270 KM).
LOCAL CITY OF DARJEELING
On the third day we took a hired taxi in just Rs.1300 for the entire day. Driving by yourself in Darjeeling is not the right decision if you do not have the much experience of driving on the mountains. Firstly we had taken breakfast at Misty Mountain Restaurant(Tasty and Healthy food). Then the taxi owner made us visit all the tourist spots which are in Darjeeling. Like , Tiger Hill( for seeing early morning sunrise), Peace Pagoda, Ghoom Monastery, Happy Valley Tea Estate, Tenzing Rock Climbing, Rock Garden, Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Batasia Loop.
LOCAL MARKET AND LOCAL CULTURAL PROGRAM
On the next day we were want to explore the Darjeeling local city by walk. We started early morning and firstly we went to Darjeeling Himalayan Zoo . That is very nice place with the different verities of animals like Deer, Lion, Tiger, Bear, and etc. At 1 pm we had taken lunch and come to the local market and exploring all the streets , tea shops , purchasing some clothing items, and were start walking on the mall road, where a place is sadhna kala kendra, that is famous for dance and music programme. We enjoyed at sadhana kala kendra some hours, taking some pictures and approximately 10 pm we were come back at our hotel room.
DARJEELING TO MIRIK LAKE TO SILIGURI
On the fifth day we started our journey to Mirik Lake (with full bag pack, as we decided to come back home after our trip to Mirik Lake). Since the route from Darjeeling to Mirik was very winding (around 65 K.M.), we had to start our journey early in the morning. We reached Mirik at around 11 am. The road from Darjeeling to Mirik is very awesome and full of natural beauty. Before reaching Mirik, there was a flower garden. From where we also bought some flower trees. We enjoyed boating(Boating fee is 200 per head), taking pictures and some other activities in Mirik. After these things we were started our journey for back to home.Because we continued to have fun all day, so we reached Siliguri in the evening. Then we decided to stay in Siliguri. For which we booked the hotel from Goibibo. Hotel Sharda. The rent was Rs 700 / room. We reached the hotel by 6 in the evening. After a little rest, we went to see the local market of Siliguri. There was a market called Hong Kong Market. Which we kept watching for a long time, bought some stuff too. Then from there we went to Big Bazaar Shopping Mall. From there we took some fastfoods and dryfruits to eat on the journey the next day. Then before going to sleep we tasted Jalebi and curd at one place.
SILIGURI TO BASTI
In the morning on the sixth day we woke up a little relaxed because the previous day was quite tired. Then after having breakfast we returned to the Basti. While traveling, wherever we could see a good place, we would stop to take photos. Had lunch at 2 pm approx, a dhaba on the way and reached Basti by 9 pm.
Total Expenses of Trip - Rs.47500(Approx) with car Diesel.
