Built in the mid 1700s, the castle was completely destroyed during World War II. However, the magnificent city walls were rebuilt using modern technology, and the castle stands beautifully restored. The view from the top of the city walls is simply breathtaking.

Another attraction in Rothenburg is the huge medieval market hall, which is open to the public every day. Visitors are welcome to take a tour around the market area, and enjoy plenty of delicious food and shopping. Rothenburg hosts numerous festivals throughout the year, including the famous Midsummer festival, where people dress up in colorful costumes and go to exciting events like folk dancing, traditional games, and fireworks. For a nice way to spend your evening, you can visit the Museum of Wicca, an ancient religion founded in Rothenburg in the mid-elfth century. The museum houses a collection of hundreds of artifacts, which showcase the religious movements of both the old and the new worlds.

The markets provide an excellent opportunity to experience what exactly the locals are doing while on vacation. One of the most important attractions of Rothenburg is the incredible Castle church, which sits high on the mountainside and was used as a fortress in the middle ages.
