Longest train journey I have ever done is trip to Kutch. Started from Kannur in Kerala then again from Bandra ( Mumbai) to Bhuj in Gujarat. Was totally exhausted by the time I reached Bhuj. It was a pre booked trip, so on arrival at Bhuj we checked into arrival point outside Bhuj station. We had arrived by 9am there is not much facility near station. Just found a small shop that served some snacks and tea. Then by 10:30am bus arrived to take us to Rann of Kutch tent City. They also gave a small food pack with some snacks and water. Once you reach tent city there is a check in process we will be allocated tent and food coupon.
Noon stayed inside tent since it was too hot. Evening we were taken to see sun set in Rann of Kutch. There was cultural programs but unfortunately we missed it. So be on time for all programs.
Morning 6am we went to see sun rise. It was beautiful view. Booking was for two day one night so second day morning we checked out from tent City. Then headed to Bhuj to see Kutch museum, Aina Mahal and Prag Mahal.
Hired a local taxi then went for sightseeing. Vijay Vilas palace India house Mandvi beach and Kalo dungar. Must visit is Hiralakshmi memorial craft museum in Bhujio you can spend half of the day inside the museum. Photography with digital camera fee is 3000rs so no much information or picture is available. If you take camera then it should be kept in locker outside . Only mobile and purse allowed in. There is plenty of option to see and buy local craft work.
When going to Kalo Dungar keep Google map on you can see when we pass through tropic of cancer. Also there is a magnetic point on way to Kalo Dunger, where vechils defy gravity and seems to roll up slope.
