This beautiful village is located in the Dhauladhar mountain range, which is a part of Himalayan range on the banks of Uhl River in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at approx 600 km from Delhi. The village is accessible by road and has average public transport facility.
uhl river on its way. The river originates from bara bhangal which is a very remote village and only accessible by 2 day trek from badgram

The clouds and the breeze says something
A bus waiting for passengers at bus stand. The village has average public transport facility and 2-3 buses run daily on the route (while the roads are open)
Me washing my car in a natural reservoir
(baby k10 took too much load on the hilly roads but it never lets u down)

The place is basically known for a hydral project which is under Punjab government from the time of british rule. Barot is a beautiful village and definitely an unexplored region. Two rivers (Uhl and Lamba Dug) from different valleys meet here.
Dam at barot on the uhl river for storing the water for hydral project
( project is still punjab govt. undertaken)
a beautiful ground surrounded by the deodar trees
The village is 7 km from Barot and the drive is beautiful. The scenic road goes through the banks of Lamba Dug river and beautiful forest. A beautiful waterfall comes on the way. The road is not pretty good as there is no charcoal on the road and small cars are not recommended But you can manage if there is no other option because the distance is only 7 km.
I myself drove an Alto k10 but it took 30 minutes for 7 km.
The village has a small market where you can buy local antique items. Rajmah is pretty famous item in this region. Local shawls and stoles are manufactured here using old "khaddis".
The place is really cheap in terms of cost.
me and dad taking a view of lohardi village
nothing like having a conversation walking on the banks with backgroud music of flowing river
pahadi ladies in the traditional dresses
waterfall on the way to lohardi
The place is just 2 km ahead of Barot and falls in Kangra district.
There is a small market and a few accommodations here.
The Uhl river separates the land in two districts. Mandi district is on the other side of river.
