Have been to many places inside and outside India but this one was in my bucket list for the longest time and finally made it.
It was a family road trip yet again, needless to say that parents accompany for all the temple visits.
Started from Chennai to Tanjore via Villupuram to cover 3 Narasimha Swamy temples.
Singrikudi- around 40 kms from Dindivanam
Poovasarankuppam- around 25 kms from Singrikudi
Parikkal- around 45 kms from poovarasankuppam
It is said that visiting all 3 temples on same day is auspicious and blessed. If you plot these temples in google map, you will be amazed to find them lying in a straight line.
After having a great Darshan of Narasimha swamy, had lunch and headed to Tanjore.
Before reaching out to our lodge, visited few more famous temples

Patteswaram Durga temple
Thirunallur Kalyana Sundareswarar(Sundaraperumal koil)- Auspicious for birth star Magam
There were actually 2 Kalyana Sundareswarar temples, the first one we visited by mistake was small but old. The second one is the right one. Make sure you put Sundaraperunal Koil in google search.
Reached our lodge for night rest
Day 2 started with excitement, the first stop was Iconic Brihadeeswara temple. Oh my Beauty! Still at awe on the temple gopuram/tower, sculptures and also Nandi.1000 years old still Majestic and beautiful, is understatement. Every single person in the world must visit this place, trust me you just cant move your eyes.
Then headed to Vaishnava Divyadesams(listed in 108 Divyadesams)
Sri Neelamega perumal temple
Thanjai Manikundra temple
Thanjai Vennatrankarai Narasimha perumal
Jagathratchaga perumal temple
Gajendra Varathar temple
The small rivers like vennaru, Vettaru, Kudamurutti that you cross while roaming around Thanjai were beautiful and full during monsoons.
Checked out our room and headed to Punnai Nallur Mariyamman temple
On the way back home visited Gangai konda Chozapuram, another beauty.
It was the shortest trip but a blessed one!
