Rajasthan has always been one of the bucket list and a never ending list when it comes to visiting the number of times. 27th January, 2015 was the day when I was returning from a very long day and a tiring week. 3 hours drive down from Pune to Mumbai. I had like an hour for me to get fresh and set off for Rajasthan. We were six of us and had rented an Innova (The Bestest car for Long Tours) as driving on our own was quite risky and hectic at times. We left from Mumbai at 8 in the night. As expected, Mumbai traffic at the most peak time was killing us, took almost 2 hours to get off the city traffic and experience the prolific highways awaiting. After 2 hours of traffic and the next two hours of highway we came across the most decent 'Highway' standard restaurant "Shiv Sagar". Food was quite excellent, Highways are known for the authenticity of Indian food they serve. The climate was quite pleasant and windy. After a lip smacking dinner we were all set to trippin' further. As it was quite dark by then it was tough to actually witness the scenic beauty this place has to offer apart the windy and pleasant climate it was leaving behind. Highways were quite stunning and were quite well maintained with all kind of safety measures taken. Radium reflectors actually added the ornament. It was actually a pain to keep your eyes open as the beam light by other cars were hitting our eyes and was difficult to keep up with the pace. As the passion for road trip follows good serene music kept me awake and we reached Ahemadabad by around 3 in the morning. I was quite excited to witness the scenic beauty and terrain it follows along with the Highways it has to offer which are quite prominent in India. The pace at which Ahemadabad is developing is quite mind blowing. Its developing so beautifully that we actually lost our way and consumed a lot of time actually finding the way. The city is so well planned. We finally found are way ahead P.s. Thanks to Google Maps. After good 5 hours of drive we reached Mysanna and got down for a good 'Gujju Breakfast'. Quite refreshing we got down at one of the Jain pilgrimage which served us a good and filling breakfast. After which we set further to our destination. It was almost bright by than and the clouds were quite clear and chilly as hell. The most exciting an the most awaited part of the whole trip commenced. The road were quite clean and in a better state. The whole road trip to our native place Takhatgarh which is in Rajasthan was one of the best road trips I have had after Delhi - Punjab - Himachal Pradesh. We reached our native place by 12 in the afternoon. We were here with a purpose of attending one of our cousins wedding. I went exploring the whole village with a quite distinct perspective. The old village schools and the students actually with the dreams in their eyes was treat to my eyes. The whole day went by exploring the village and attending quite a few wedding ceremonies. Next morning at 9 my dad calls me down to see something very unusual. It was almost the Big Fat Wedding set up in our village. It was wedding of some Royal families. The whole village was quite filled with wedding attendees. That royal wedding witnessed 150 Innovas for wedding attendees and a chopper for the couple to be. Special arrangement for Helipad was made amidst the whole village. That night we were set to get back to our pavilion. When it comes to Rajasthan how can we forget the Dhabas and the 'Desi' delicacy it offers. We went to nearby Shivam Dhaba which was supposedly the best Dhaba in that radius. 'Haldi ki sabji', 'Aloo mutter ki Sabji' made in purest form of ghee was treat to my taste bud. 'Papad ki churry' was the cherry to the cake. After a filling dinner we set back to Mumbai. Everyone was quite tired (Including me leaving aside all the excitement of road trips) and crashed off. Sadly my eyes opened next morning and missed a major chunk of it. We were 4 hours away from Mumbai when we took halt for lunch at one of the well renowned restaurants. Few hours down the line we touched Mumbai and the trip was almost coming to an end.
It left behind great memories and was quite explorative. Rajasthan offers quite a vivid culture for all of us and leaves behind the traits to ones memories.
