Reconnecting with yourself: Stunning South India

In a busy work life, we felt there is a need to reconnect with nature and to bag the cherishing moments after college. So we finally set out for a trip covering the stunning south India. Based on my experience and expertise with south India, I devised an Itinerary covering the famous tourist destinations of south India in 10 days. We started from Hyderabad and reached Bangalore to add few more buddies and this would be the best point to start to any destination in south India.

First destination is "Queen of Hill Stations". You got it right !!!!

Yes, she is none other than Udhagamandalam or Ooty. A famous hill station situated deep in the Blue Mountains which contains breath taking scenic beauties. It is situated in 290 kilometres (180 mi) from Bangalore via Royal city Mysore. We restricted ourselves to just visit the mighty Mysore palace even though several destinations in Mysore like Chamundi hills etc because we need to cross Bandipur National park before sunset to reach Ooty. Here you may go for a wild life safari in the vehicles of Forest Department.

Reached Ooty by evening and took some rest in booked accommodation. It was so pleasant evening and we went out to explore the city actually for a good cuisine. It was so cold and we were shivering even after wearing jackets. Morning started to Dodabetta Peak. It offers a magnificent majestic view of Nilagiri The Blue hills. This is the highest peak of Nilagiri hills. We started back to see the Rose Garden, Botanical Garden, Pykar Lake.

In the evening we started to experience the delightful backwaters in Kerala. Started passing through Coimbatore, Palakkad and reached Aleppy. We took a house boat to experience the best of Back waters. You will experience the best cuisine. We spent a day here. You can hire a boat for a day starting from Morning to next day morning. Definitely it offers a delightful experience.

It was time to see the Guruvayoorappan. So we started to Guruvayoor via Thrissur. We wanted to have the morning darshan. So I woke up in the early morning 2.00 clock and went to witness the beauty of the temple and to have the darshan. It was truly amazing experience in the morning. Idol was truly amazing and it was really worshipped by Bramha to create the universe, Devaki and Vasudev to get Krishna as their son. After having darshan, we moved towards punnathoor to see the elephants of the temple.

Then again, it was time to experience the Gods own country beautiful falls, which is termed as Indian Nayagara "Athirapally Falls". So we had a great time playing with the water and after having so many clicks started towards calicut to experience the evening Sunset. By the time we reached calicut, it was cloudy and started raining. So I not able to witness it.

With that disappointment, moved towards Udupi for Lord Krishna darshan again. Then we went to Murudeshwar to see the recently built temple with Raja Gopuram of 20 storey high. So it offers a great view of the ocean and temple. We thought of going for Scuba diving here but it was rainy weather, people said it was not available the best season would be october. From here Gokarna, a famous shiva temple.

Finally Goa, Land of beaches. We spent two days in Goa by seeing the Candolim, baga beaches, Fort, World Heritage sites and Go Karting, Dudh Sagar Waterfalls etc.

After having great excitement and entertainment, we felt rejuvenated started back to Hyderabad.
