I had gone to surprise my friend (and didn't know about the situations what's happening there, riots and all not even the weather). Took a train from Mumbai to Jammu and then a shared cab ride to Srinagar (spend 1050rs to reach Srinagar from Mumbai). As soon as I reached Srinagar, a couple invited me for a tea and breakfast. I wasn't expecting anything but they were so kind and lovely they told me to me to stay with them (then I told them I have a booking and have to meet a friend). Experienced the autumn for the first time in my whole life (rainfall and snowfall in November which is not usual!!!). It was my first trip to Kashmir (I didn't visit Sonmarg, Pahalgam and Gulmarg). I was in Srinagar for the whole time chilling (my as usual drinking scenes) with locals, exploring the town and food (didn't feel unsafe at any time). Took local conveyance to travel around (stayed almost 3 nights for free out of my 9 nights). Ignore all the brackets, This was my experience there are so many things to be told about. But experience it on your own, it is heaven on earth. People, the place and the food too. Give it a try.
And my friend, she was @srish_teee (my Pumbae💕) it was because of her I again experienced this kind of beautiful trip..
