The government tourism department has cooked up a smart scheme to spice up their stay. They have rolled out a special bus service called ‘Jammu Darshan’ to whisk them away to Jammu city and its enchanting wonders. What are these wonders and how do the pilgrims react? Read on to find out.
Discover the Hidden Gems of Jammu
The 'Jammu Darshan' bus service, which kicked off on Saturday, is a joint venture of the directorate of Tourism Jammu, JKRTC and the district administration of Jammu. It aims to showcase the hidden gems of Jammu and offer a delightful opportunity for pilgrims and other tourists to visit these places.
Four JKRTC buses, loaded with pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat and Maharashtra, departed from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar on Saturday morning. They were taken to some of the most amazing places of Jammu, such as Amar Mahal Museum, Bahu Fort, Jammu Gandola, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Aquaplex -Crown Musical Fountain.
The pilgrims had a blast on the day-long trip and thanked the tourism department for organizing this service. They also wish to resume their journey to the holy cave soon.
A Regular Feature for the Entire Yatra Period
Director of Tourism Jammu, Vivekanand Rai, who flagged off the bus service, said that it will be a regular feature for the benefit of the pilgrims, especially during the suspension of yatra. He said that the bus service will help them enjoy the locales of Jammu city and its vicinity during the day trips.
Joint Director of Tourism Jammu, Sunaina Sharma Mehta, said that the bus service will cover different circuits such as Jammu-Akhnoor-Jhiri, Jammu-Surinsar-Mansar-Manwal Temples and Jammu-Purmandal-Utterbehni. She said that these circuits have some of the most beautiful and historical places of Jammu region, and the bus service shall help promote local destinations of Akhnoor, Jhiri, Suchetgarh, Purmandal, Mansar and Surinsar.
She also said that the bus service is a collaborative effort of the tourism department and other stakeholders to promote local destinations and provide a memorable experience to the tourists. She urged the pilgrims and other visitors to avail this service and explore the rich culture and heritage of Jammu.
