Journey started form Delhi, Planned day 1 for Kanyakumari.

Kanyakumari- End of Land

Trip starts from “The Land’s End point”. The most famous visiting town of Tamil Nadu state in India. Meeting point of three Oceans, Bay of Bengal, Indian Oceans, and Arabic Ocean.

Best time to visit
The best time to visit the place is September to March, the cool and pleasant weather, making it an ideal place for sightseeing. The most go to see places of the place.

Must plan for a night stay over there. This will make you to know the town and meet the local people who don’t know Hindi but very fluent in English. Love and respect for each traveler, no high demands of hotel rooms. Such a gentry people, Love to be there.

 Taxis are available outside the Airport and the Railway stations at reasonable price.

It’s 3 PM in the evening and I reached at my hotel, freshen up myself and get ready to explore the place. I explored nearby spots, talked to some local people and experienced their lifestyle and planned my next day visiting spots.

Sunrise View/Rock Memorial
Early morning visit sunrise point, then rush for the visit of Rock Memorial. Paid entry is there grab your tickets and wait for your turn to enjoy a ferry boat ride. It takes approx. 10 min to reach to Rock memorial, remove your shoes and walk barefoot in the place. Spend your 4-5 hours on captivating the beauty of sea waves, also you can meditate for hours at Dhyana Mandapam. The place is attached to the memorial for visitors also to meditate. The place is quite crowded as a trip from local school students came there to enjoy and to learn teachings of Vivekananda. Here, Vivekananda attained enlightenment on the rock.

Local Market
After coming back, Shopaholic collect varieties of sea-shell items as a memory of your trip and other local decorative stuff that are available there.

Foodies enjoy various sea food items, Thou I’m vegetarian so I prefer South Indian dishes like dosa, Rasam, Appam, Vada, Idli, you can enjoy the South Indian thali that consists of variety of dishes and served in small bowls.

Also, you can explore the Kanyakumari beach and the famous church which is walkable distance.

Sunset Point
Now the time to see pleasing sunset view & lucky me to be there on time and people are roaming there for catching a beautiful view for photography. Perfect day to spend at Kanyakumari. Now, time to leave the place, and more to explore.
