Day 1

Gokarna a magical beach town on the west coast of India in the state of Karnataka, geographically located between two rivers Aghnashini and Gangavalli making it an exotic place for a beach vacation.

Less touristy means less people making it an ideal place for solo travelers and peace lovers. Literally peace of the beach...😍😍

Gokarna is well connected by road and trains from major cities like banglore, Mangalore and Goa.

Here are 6 things that you should not miss to do in Gokarna..

1. Visit the Gokarna town which has all the small town charms, the Gokarna temple, the only athmalingam in the world, where you are allowed inside the garbagraha to touch and feel the deity. This temple is said to be built by Ravana himself supervised by the Mayans.

2. Start your day early for a beach hopping trek. Gokarna has 16 less frequented yet beautiful beaches. Start from om beach, half-moon, small hell beach (my favourite of all), paradise beach all the way to the light house on the cliff... if u still have some stamina left over continue your trek to belekan beach and god's own beach. Don't worry on your way back you can hire a boat hassle free and get dropped back at om beach. If you are lucky enough you can spot some dolphins as well.

3. Take an evening stroll to the sunset point via a kudle beach. Its a mesmerizing view on a hill top with mysterious ladyrinths around. Check out the Matra cafe on your way back, the food was very delicious in here.

4. Hire a bike for as low as Rs 400/- a day, visit the great Mirjan fort 24km from gokarna and know the exciting story of the Pepper queen "Rainha de Pimenta" and don't forget to take a picture at the evergreen padyfields on your way.

5. Do not miss to visit the Gokarna beach, the soft sanded clean beach with a clear stream flowing on it is one of a kind.

6. At last don't forget to sit on one of the many beaches with peace, watching the sunset, listening to the waves. Your trip to Gokarna is incomplete with out a swim on the west coast of India.

Bonus 😜

7. As soon as you reach Gokarna, take an auto to the om beach. There are a number of small cafes with cottages available for as low as Rs 200/- per day. The cottages are very basic but then you get to stay right on the beach with peace.
