A Day trip to Talakadu

Talakadu is a holy place of shiva where one can do Panchalinga dasrhana which is located on the bank of river Kaveri. Namely  Vaidyanatheswara, Arkeshswara , Pathaleswara , Muruleshswara and Malikaarjuna. This place if full of sands because of Alamelamma curse. Most of the temples were covered in stand , but now government has cleared them so that we can visit all five temples.

We started from Bangalore at 6 AM had breakfast  on the way NASA’s Davanagere Benne Dose Hotel , Kanakapura Road. Set and Ghee dosa will be awesome here. One can also try Vasu hotel in Kanakapura or Chibul idli in babu hotel halaguru both of them are on the way to talakadu. Reached Talakadu around 11Am hierd a guide who took us to all the five temples and explained the history of it. You have lot mess  around temples and Food is available near River Bank as well. We had lunch at udupi mess , food was average. It was full meals and they charged 100 per plate.and then went to play in river. You have boating as well. For full round its 100 a s 50 for half way round. Kids will love this.
After playing for good amount of time had a cup of tea, churmuri and bajjis and started back bangalore.
