It was a quick getaway from Bangalore for 48hrs. And planning process was the usual decide a destination, find a stay and book a zoom car, only in our case it was the othwrway round. We first booked our Zoom Car for 48 hrs for Rs3000 appx that allowed us a drive 480 kms long. We scouted for budget hime stays on booking.com and found Soreena Farm Stay and hence we set out for Chikmagalur that very night.
An overnight drive and we were at the gates of this hauntingly beautiful property just a few Kms up hill to the main town.
We were exhausted and farmished to death. At the gates we were greeted by our very friendly host and care taker Rakesh.
This beautiful property radiated all the Alice in Wonderland vibes. There were hunders of varieties of ornamental plants. Bougainvillea pink white and orange weighing down from high rising trees. Cuckoo singing her morning songs.
The villa was adorned with tastefully curated antiques that spoke volumes if its owners delicate taste in artifacts. The balcony in our room opened to the gorgeous vistas of the farm that stretched for as far as our eyes could see.
But the highlight of our stay would be the warmth and love that the caretakers Rakesh and his family showered on us. They brought the concept of home away from home ti life with their hospitality. Be it the conversations or the food everything felt like being amazing hosts was their first nature.
We truly did did leave a part of us at Soreena and can wait to visit again.
