A glimpse of our journey throught the mountains and valleys to and through Ladakh from Srinagar.
We started off from Srinagar, the capital, and headed towards Kargil to see the war memorial. To our disappointment, the memorial was closed when we got there, we happened to meet the major in-charge, who agreed to let us in just for a little bit.
On having a conversation with him, we discovered that he was one of the soldiers who fought for the country in the Kargil war, and we were incredibly lucky to hear an entire narration of the war.
We continued our journey to Nimmu, a tiny town in the heart of Ladakh and stayed there for a night, before we headed out the next day for river rafting at the highest rafting spot in the world.
After an exciting rafting session and a night spent at Leh city, we drove through the scenic landscapes towards Nubra Valley. We also visited the Pangong Tso Lake, (which is as beautiful as it looks in the movies), and Tso Moriri, a lake that is much smaller but also extremely beautiful and more peaceful.
We ended our journey by heading back to Leh, where we cycled down from Khardungla pass to Leh City.
A 40 km bicycle ride through the mountains with breathtaking pit-stops, this was an unforgettable experience.
With views that leave you spellbound, and people that fill up your life with love and laughter, Kashmir really is paradise on earth.
