One of the most interesting aspects of visiting Madrid is exploring the plaza mayor that covers the area surrounding the Prado Museum. This is one of the most well-known areas in all of Spain, and has been home to some of Spain's greatest artists since the 1400s. One can enjoy an afternoon walking through the narrow streets of Madrid and taking in the colorful stalls that sell souvenirs at bargain prices. Furthermore, a few of the streets have paths that lead directly to the Prado Museum itself, which is well worth taking a trip to.
