My Travel Experience.

I had visited Kashid beach in the month of October 2016 with my friends. We started our journey from Hinjewadi, Pune at 6 AM in the morning. We had hired an Innova Car which cost us Rs. 4000 for a day. The total distance we covered was 158 km with a duration of 4 hours.

On our way we halt to had the most famous breakfast in Maharashtra i.e poha and chaha. Our first stop was the Murud Janjira Fort followed by an evening at Kashid Beach.

MURUD JANJIRA FORT

We reached the fort at 10 AM. This Fort is situated on an island in the coastal village of Murud. It is one of the tourist attraction and a famous fort. The name of the fort is a combination of Konkani(morod) and Arabic(jazeera) word. The fort is built on an oval shaped rock and is considered to be the strongest marine fort till today. The fort can be visited by the sailboats of Rajapuri jetty which cost between Rs.20-Rs.150 depending upon the sailboat size.

Post our visit to the fort, we started moving towards our next destination i.e Kashid beach which was at a distance of another 21 km from the fort. It took us 45 mins to reach the beach. Before reaching the beach we came across a beautiful view of the beach surrounded with lush green trees from a top.

KASHID BEACH

We reached Kashid at 1 PM. We had our lunch at the beach side restaurant. Kashid is the beach town between Murud and Alibaug. It is one of the best beaches to visit over the weekend and its nearer to Mumbai and Pune folks. The beach is clean and tidy. Kashid is both a private as well as adventurous beach. You can go along with your friends and chill at the beach, set up a tent for camping, stay up at the hotel with your love or experience an adrenaline rush by getting involve in some water sports.

We had a great time at the beach. We were re-living our childhood it seems. We sat down at the shore and played with the sand trying to built a sand house. We splash water on one another, jumped into the water whenever the bigger waves hit us, played with the ball inside the water. We spend hours playing in the water and also clicked some amazing beach site pictures.

At the beach side you will have changing rooms where you clean yourself and change. They will hardly charge you Rs.10 per person for using it.

We left Kashid at 6 PM and started our journey towards Pune. On the highway we halt at the Macdonalds and had happy meals as our dinner 😉

It was one of the best beach experience for a while I sat alone on the beach for sometime, the sound of the waves at the shore were so soothing, the air blowing my hair making happy and breathing in the fresh air made my soul so peaceful.

Tip: During the weekends it gets overcrowded, so make your reservations before hand.

Other places that you can visit are:

1. Korlai Fort

2. Revdanda Beach

3. Revdanda Fort

4. Nagaon Beach

5. Tamhini ghat
