Day 1

Many of us have our travel bucketlist wholly of exotic destinations all around the world & undoubtedly #Europe would be one of the #MustVisits of the list. What if the europe travel plan goes little outside our budget ? No worries, we do always have a plan B, LAVASA !!

Lavasa is a private, planned city being built near Pune. It is stylistically based on the Italian town #Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town.
Although many of Punekars and Mumbaikars know about this #offbeatweekendgetaway, this blog is for the people who are looking for a perfect weekend getaway for a romantic date or just to hangout with their friends and Family for a day or two.

I started my bike journey from my house at pune at 6.00 A.M in the morning. That being a monsoon season, I've experienced some magical moments on the way to Lavasa. We can find lush green scapes all around the roadtrip. As Lavasa is popular for its mountains and valleys around the region, I'm sure we would be enthralled by the heavenly picturesque location. As we attain the altitude to reach lavasa, we would literally get a feeling that "I am on cloud 9" because of the clouds that surrounds us. All along the way to lavasa, one would find many lush green valley's, huge mountains, birds chirping all around, gentle cool breeze welcoming us to Lavasa !

Food:
One can find wide variety of restaurants of European style food, Indian chaat, Italian etc.

To-Do's:

1) Visit the varasagaon dam which is situated in the banks of mose river for the picturesque location for capturing some unforgettable moments with your loved one's.

2) For all the adrenaline junkies, we have Lakeshore Water sport, Adventure Sports, Nature Trails, Game Arcade are some of the activities one can enjoy in Lavasa.

3) Decent shopping stop-overs for the fashionistas.

Best time to reach Lavasa is definitely the Monsoon Season! But there are some occasions which we can't afford to miss like the diwali mela, Christmas , and the NewYear celebrations. Most importantly a car-rally which would generally takes place in the month of February is a must watch.

How to Reach Lavasa

Lavasa, being an emerging & planned tourist hotspot, is well connected to the rest of India via roadways. Regular bus and taxi services are available for the city of Lavasa. There is, however, no direct train or flight connectivity to Lavasa. Lonavala, 29 km away from this city is the nearest railway station. Pune Airport, 67.9 km from Lavasa, is the nearest airport that serves the city of Lavasa.

Lavasa by Flight

To reach Lavasa by air, you can choose between Mumbai airport (193 km) or Pune airport (65km). Preferably you should opt for Pune airport, as it is closer compared to Mumbai airport.

Nearest Airport: New Pune International Airport - 57 kms from Lavasa.

Lavasa by Road

Regular bus services ply to and from Lavasa. Buses, in a range from affordable to slightly expensive rates, are available from places like Mumbai, Pune, Panjim, and the neighbouring areas. You can also take a shared taxi or cab for the same route. ( My personal suggestion would be to take a bike/car for rent in pune, may be from zoom car or drivezy mobile apps as lavasa is 60-65kms from the city .)
