I feel very lucky that I live in a city which is close by to numerous beautiful places. And one such place is Diveagar beach. About 170 KM from Pune this beach is a hidden gem in the midst of the hills.
We began our road trip early morning on Saturday towards Diveagar beach. One can go to Diveagar either Via Mulshi or Lonavala Kahandala.
And since we planned this roadtrip without doing some prior research made us choose the via Mulshi road. Though the road through the Ghats was not at all good and even the road prior to it through Paud was also broken, the beautiful Mulshi dam s view made it worth the toil we suffered in order to reach that point.
Mulshi dam is about 60-70 Km from Pune and is mostly visited during rainy season when many waterfalls fall in between the road through the hills.
But it was equally beautiful to us during the winter season.
After taking a small break and admiring the beautiful view of Mulshi we started again for our trip to Diveagar.
Gradually the road 's quality started degrading from bad to worse and I really had to some good driving skills to drive over such uneven terrain.
Finally we reached a small dhaba at the juncture where the road disected from Mulshi towards Diveagar. We had just Misal pav but having that in the middle of hills surrounding us from three sides was a memorable experience.
Later our drive downward was also very picturesque and we did not miss to to catch the glimses of the beautiful scenes around.
Finally after taking multiple breaks in between we reached Diveagar. The place is quite and simple where still bullock carts being used as means of transportation is a common scene.
We first headed for our resort. It was very near the beach and was at a reasonable price. We took a breather for an hour or so and then went for the beach.
The beach was wonderful and was worth all the bumps we had passed in our way to reach here.
The peculiar thing was that when you reach there you would be surprised how can a beach exist there when all the way you have been seeing Ghats and hills.
The beach was really clean and peacefull. Diveagar beach is also near to Aathgaon and many more beaches in and around 10-12km radius.
Since we reached the beach during evening and could witness the beautiful sunset. We clicked a lot of beautiful pics. After all the fun we had while wetting our feets and running around we had some of the best ice gola s and drinks. Finally as darkness spread we headed back to our resort to spend a quite and peacefull night in the midst of cold breeze, coconut trees and a night sky full of stars.
Day 2 began by we checking out of our resort and seeing the beach one last time before we left Diveagar. In the morning the sea had come much closer to the coastline. It was a very nice view to see the glittering sealine Infront and people enjoying the water rides. After having some Maggi and kanda bhaaji we left for our trip back to Pune. This time we chose the Lonavala and Kahandala road. It was a longer route than the one we had while coming and so we had some more breaks but had a lot of fun.
Then we reached Lonavala, we stopped and had some good clicks and had some of the famous Lonavala chikki .
Making Lonavala our final stop we reached back to Pune and completing a small yet a memorable trip to Diveagar.
