Reach Thivim Railway station by train from Mumbai, Pune or any other place. Hire an auto for Rs. 400 to take you to palolem beach. Midway you can stop for breakfast or snacks in some small hotel. Auto driver can guide you.
Alternatively there are public and private buses ar frequency of 30 minutes from Railway station to Palolem beach road.
Reach Palolem beach road. There would be many people offering you stay options, all of them right on beach or just behind 1st row of beach houses. You can choose any of them.
You can also pre book your beach huts online, they cost between 1200 per night to 5000 per night depends on amenities provided. Basic one with double bed non ac room with geyser starts from 1500 which is right on beach.
Dump in your luggage, freshen up and you are ready for relaxing and happening beach vacation.
Every beach hut owner has shacks as well was restaurants, you can laze around on shacks, enjoy food and drinks, roam around, play with locals and other tourists.
By evening all the shacks convert into barbeque dinner and candle light dinner options. They cost is bit on higher side but can be tried once.
On beach road there are few cafe's, stalls which serve good food at reasonable rates. We also found few places where home made Thali both veg ad non veg were available. Fish thalis were available on prior order, these Thalis cost from 100 Rs. For veg to 250 Rs for chicken Thali.
Market also had some good garment and souvenir shopping options.
For breakfast on the start of beach road there were 3 to 4 stalls serving some good bread rolls, omlette breads, maggi, veg pakoda, poha, etc. Bread items were very yummy. One can have good filling breakfast under Rs.100
On beach road the cafe and restaurants also serve breakfast. Which was good and cheaper than ones on beach.
Day 2 early morning you can also plan for Dolphin watching trip and island hopping. Do bargain and finalise your deal.
You can also do Kayaking in sea, standup row boat, there is a backwaters trip as well.
When there is low tide, the other galf of beach also opens up, walk around and visit that corner as well for some good photo spots.
Palolem has one of nice sunsets, the colours it shows is just awesome.
Just before sunset, locals start playing football, disk anyone can join them if you dont have company to play around.
