So it was in december of 2017 when i travelled solo for the first time and that was the time i got the bug of travelling alone and exploring places. I liked the culture of staying in hostels and meeting people from various parts around the world. It was my visit to udaipur in january of 2018 that made me first known about the crazy holi that takes place in Pushkar.. so this was a trip that took a whole year in the making..finally it was march of 2019 i decides that i ll be spending holi and pushkar and my planned my trip around it..and my first destination on the way to pushkar was jaisalmer the golden city of India
If the first day was about reaching jaisalmer from delhi, the second day was spent in the amazing sand dunes and sleeping under the stars and waking up and walking barefoot on the sand . On the way to sand dunes i came across this abandoned village in jaisalmer known as Kuldhara( said to be haunted)
The third day i got to see a fully licensed govt bhang shop in jaisalmer and it was a no brainer that i had to try it..and trust me those were the trippiest 4 hours of my life
From jaisalmer i decided to make a stop at jodhpur before reaching to pushkar..i stayed in zostel there and the terrace had a sick view of the Mehrangarh fort
The second day was all about exploring the Mehrangarh fort from the inside and trust me that level of architecture is so spellbouding and to roam on the fort street and thinking that some hunderd years ago the king used to walk on the same path
Finally on the sixth day of my trip i had reached pushkar.. i was all excited for the hype that was created and everyone i met either in jaisalmer or jodhpur their to be destination for holi was pushkar..i reached on the day of holi dehen and seeing the crowd there got me thinking that holi would be something else here
Finally it was the day i had planned my trip for..and it was worth it.. there were around 3 lakhs of tourist playing holi on the 3km road of pushkar..and the songs that were playing there werent like our typical hindi songs.. it was just trance and edms and it felt like i am in a edm concert where people are playing with colours
The holi day had me so exhausted and everything that the last day was just spent lying and chilling in the zostel hostel in pushkar and yes they have a swimming pool too and later in the evening we went somewhere in the mountains to see the sunset and it was amazing. All in all it was a trip where i made really good friends..got high for straight 8 days and it was an 8 day party nonstop
