Day 1

Whenever you come to Udaipur, find time to explore these three magnificent Getaways.

Main Tourist attraction is Chittorgarh Fort. The fort of Chittor is regarded as one of the most outstanding forts of the country and is indeed the "Pride of Rajasthan State". The formidable fort is perched atop a 180 meter high hillock covering a massive area of 700 acres and is a standing sentinel to the courage and valor of Chittorgarh. It is believed that the fort was build by the Mauryans in 7th century and further structures were added to it by the successive Mewar rulers.

The Padmini Palace complex is reminiscent of the exceptional beauty of Rani Padmini and the first major siege of Chittorgarh. Legendary tales narrate that Ala-ud-din Khilji was so captivated by the beauty of the queen that he laid siege to Chittorgarh in order to possess her. His desire enhanced when he was granted a view of the reflection of the queen. He captured the king and offered the queen to save her husband by surrendering to him; however, the Rajput soldiers cleverly and bravely rescued their king. Death and destruction followed. The Rajput men went out to face a far better army of a furious Ala-ud-din Khilji while the women, in large numbers, led by Rani Padmini embraced death by burning themselves in fire (Jauhar).

Haldighati - Haldighati is a magical place, appearing like a canvas painted in dark yellow color. The full wind blowing on the field narrates the bravery and valor of Maharana Pratap of Mewar dynasty.

Udaipur is a gold mine of Rajput history and its culture is reflected in every aspect of this beautiful city. Every nook and corner recites the legendary stories about the prevalent kings and queens of a bygone era. Exclusive to the great legends of Maharana Pratap, Udaipur offers an enthralling travel experience.

Known for the bloodiest battle fought in the region, the Battle of Haldighati has an essential place in history. If you have a slight bent towards Indian history, you will know that the Indian history is incomplete without reference to the Battle of Haldighati. This historic Battle of Haldighati has been fought on 21st June 1576 between Maharana Pratap, the Mewar King, and Emperor Akbar, a Mughal ruler. Even though it is one of the most significant battles in Rajput history, it was also the shortest battle ever fought in the past.

Day 2

Ranakpur Temples are acclaimed world-wide for their intricate and superb architectural style. These temples form one of the five major pilgrimages of the Jains. Located in village of Ranakpur near Sadri town in the Pali district of Rajasthan, Ranakpur temple lies at a distance of 95 kms in the north of Udaipur city. The temple is easily accessible from the city of Udaipur as regular buses are easily available. Built in the 15th century, Ranakpur temples are known for being the largest and most important temples of the Jain cult.

In the complex, there are several temples including Chaumukha temple, Parsavanath temple, Amba Mata Temple and Surya Temple. Amongst all of them, Chaumukha Temple is the most important and as the term Chaumukha suggests, this temple is four-faced. Chaumukha temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath, who is the first 'Tirthankara' of the Jains. The Temple structure is highly compound having four different doorways to get into the chambers. These chambers ultimately take you to the main hall where the image of Adinath is positioned.
