Weekend Getaway: Ooty trip #notinnorth

Writing my first travel photoblog here. So the plan was made all of a sudden to explore the Nilgiris to Espace the scorching heat of Mysuru and also relaxing a bit after a hectic week at Office. Me alongwith 3 of my friends decided to take a half day off and visit Ooty and the neighbouring attractions. We booked a cab from Goibibo.com and left for our Ooty trip from Mysuru at about 1:30 pm.

We reached our Ooty trip Hotel at around 4:30 pm, rested for a while and decided to explore the nearby markets, attractions.

The first place we visited was Thread Garden. Everything showcased in this garden is completely handmade.

Just at the other side of the Thread Garden is the Boat House. The view of the lake is wonderful.

Amazing View from the view point. There's a telescope too to take a close look at the view.

Singara Tea Estate.

Got an inside view of how chocolates are made.

This rock on which this view point is situated looks just like a Dolphin's Nose.

2-story lookout at the top of Doddabetta mountain featuring 2 telescopes & sweeping views. There's also a local market near the point.

We were supposed to visit some more places on this day of our Ooty trip but chose to visit them the next day.

This place has an huge collection of different types of roses.

Nice place to spend time with family and friends.

Unfortunately we could not enter the forest as it was closed at that time..

Ooty trip begins

There were two routes to reach Ooty from Mysuru. We chose the route that goes through Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. We encountered some Elephants, Deer, Monkeys etc on our way.

We booked a cab back to Mysuru and left Ooty at 3:30 pm. While coming back, we had to take another route through Pykara and Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.
