Cat cat village is a picturesque village based in Lao Chai province in North West Vietnam. The village is known for its multiple ethnic groups. Hmong being one of the main groups. The village can be easily accessed from the Sa Pa city. The best way to visit this scenic village is by trekking. The other option is to go by bike.
I preferred to trek to this village. I booked a guide to show me around. It can also be done without a guide provided you pay the entry fees.
We started the trek in the morning. The trek is easy as we have to descend from the Sa Pa city to the village. The view from the city will leave you spellbound.
There are lots of shops along the route. From the top, we can see the line of shops.
Most of the shops were selling clothes. Being a foodie, I could only concentrate on the shops selling food.
The village is famous for its handmade brocade products. I walked into a shop to buy it. As a single guy, the only brocade item that I could buy was a cap. Apparently, I have a bigger head than the Vietnamese people and couldn't find a cap to fit my head. I didn't want to disappoint the cute shopkeeper and so ended up buying a cap that didn't fit me properly.
After the shopping, we resumed our trek. The views kept becoming better as we approached the village.
We reached the village after a while. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Waterfall, streams, flowers.
At the village, there are lots of things to do and see. We saw their traditional dance and their traditional activities like weaving. After spending some time, we started our journey back to the city. When we reached back to the city I was breathless again but this time it was due to the uphill tiring trek.
