Day 1

We were staying in Zostel Rishikesh, right next to the Ram Jhula on Tapovan road. Me and five other friends of mine enjoyed the last night to the fullest. We have attended Ganga aarti and had a delicious dinner. Now it's time to start our journey towards Ukhimath, from where the Chopta Chandrashila trek starts from a small village surrounded by Himalayan mountains named 'Sari'. A cab was about to pick up from our hostel at around 5 in the morning and none of us like to wake up early in the morning. So I took it in my hand and I told everyone to wake them up at 4 o'clock next morning. Late night we slept with a hope to have a great journey ahead.

Next morning everything was great we were on schedule, cab came on time and we started our journey towards Sari village. The drive was not good as the road was broken and construction work was going on. Devprayag and Rudraprayag Sangam comes on the way. We took a halt at both the places for a while to get beautiful pictures and had some snacks with tea. The journey continued until we reached the Sari village in the afternoon. A small trek of 2.5 km for Deoria Taal starts from here. Deoria Taal is a place full of natural beauty. You can get a clear view of snow-covered mountain peaks and their reflection in Deoria Taal.

We have reached Deoria Tall after a tiring trek. Two of my friends have got altitude sickness even it was not that high. Trek is moderately difficult, a good start for beginner trekkers. We had tea, Maggi, and set up two tents for our night stay there. It was so peaceful and calm when we were sitting under a small shade adjacent to Tall. I started taking long exposure pictures of stars with their reflection in Taal, but the night was very cloudy at the side where I was supposed to take pictures. However, I have got a few nice images of star trails. Check Below...

The night passed out nicely, we had small talks and enjoyed our meal there. Now it was time to sleep as we have to wake up early in the morning again and continue our trek towards Chopta village then from there to Tungnath temple and Chandrashila peak.

Early in the morning, it was 5 O'clock, me and friends woke up and we went for a small walk near to Taal. The brightness of the sky was increasing with every second passed. I was curious to see the reflection of snow-covered peaks glittered with the warmth of sun rays, into the Taal. The morning also spent well and we were all set to start our trek towards Chopta, which is a 16 km moderate trek.

Trekking was good. You have got to know your limits, at least one of my friends knew his that day. It took 8 hours for us to reach Chopta. That Village is so beautiful and as soon as you enter into that you find Aloo ke parathe and Chai that you can not miss after an exhausting trek. I asked my friends if they would be able to reach Tunghnath till this evening and we will stay up there for tonight. But most of them refused the idea as we all were tired and one of us was not even able to eat maybe due to altitude or God knows what. So we stayed at Chopta, a single room occupied by Six people. The next day is planned for Tunghnath Temple then Chandrashilla then back to Chopta.

Before going to Bed at Deoria Taal.

Day 3

Once again, early morning wake up alarm rang and its time to get ready for the next adventure and the final part of our Journey. We all got ready in no time as the water was too cold and it was not good to use it. We had light breakfast and started for Tungnath Temple, which is the highest temple of Lord Shiva. It's a 4 km trek and slightly more difficult than our last day's experience. Jaimin was completely under shock as it was his first time into the mountains with so much hectic trekking. We have completed the first km in no time s we all were full of energy and then suddenly it started raining. Now look for a shelter. Luckily, we have found some villagers sitting inside a small tent with a small bonfire. Raining stopped after an hour and we again started. Then it was drizzling throughout our trek and somehow all of us maintained our pace and reached The Tungnath Temple.

Due to heavy rain, we couldn't go to Chandrashilla Peak and had to return Chopta. Coming back Chopta was fun, we took all the shortcuts we could and reached Chopta in an hour only. we had lunch and hired a taxi for Joshimath. It was time to reach Joshimath before nightfall. A ropeway ride for Auli, a Himalayan ski resort and hill station, was waiting for us.
