Me along with my 4 other friends planned for Devkund Waterfall trek. We reached the place at 1 pm little off late generally people reach early morning for trekking due to weather conditions but we were late and planned for evening sunset view.

We had to take a guide as it was mandatory, expensive though, the guide charged 500rs for 5 people trek inclusive of car parking, with no other option we had to opt for it.

Devkund waterfall trek begins

We started at 1 pm, the trek started smooth , we stopped by a nimbu juice shop for refreshment and later started the Devkund waterfall trek. As per guide it was 2-3 hr trek depending on individuals. The guide stated that this place is crowded during weekends and they see a count of 75,000 people during december month (which i feel is not true because 75k is huge number). They allow campings here too so anyone interested for camping can do it.

The Devkund waterfall trek at start was through small rocky pathways along forest, one side of the paths are forest greenery and other end is the vast stretch of never ending Bhira river.

It was sunny at start but as we walked through, the weather was favorable , we trekked through open fields, flat lands, alongside river watching buffaloes, forest paths listening to chirping of birds, monkeys jumping around , small bridge , jumping through rocks and small streams of water.

After 1.5 hr of the Devkund waterfall trek, started the steep hill of the trek and it was damn difficult. We were already tired ( not sure of others but me definitely :p) , with great difficulty and panting made the 30 mins steep hill of trek. Around a km away we could hear the waterfall sound , making us happy that we finally made it at 3 pm ~ 2 hrs with minimal breaks.

The waterfall is a small stream of water falling from a height between rocks, below is stagnant water around 850ft in depth (as per guide). It is stated that god idols are placed at the ground level and hence the name Devkund , the first guide to this place does the pooja of the idols.

They dont allow to go near the idols, but they allow near the water fall falling end. We sat around , enjoyed for sometime , played in water and after an hr we left to trek back. I wouldnt say the waterfall amazed me nor disappointed me but it is worth a watch , they say the place is amazing during pre-monsoons making the weather and trek exciting.

As we started to return the weather was good , it had started to become dark, we stopped by to have maggie and tea a must after a tirey trek. Later we started to cover the remaining 1 hr of trek. As we trekked back leisurely the river started to look magnificient, the sunset was amazing , reflection of sun in the river was amazing, buffaloes were enjoying and resting in the water a view worthful to watch. We reached the start point by 5 pm- 5.30 pm and it was easy to trek back leisurely.
