If you were lucky enough to read "The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare , he described the city as one of a vibrant, cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural and artistic heritage, yet also tinged with a sense of sadness and mystery.

Well he was right about it all .

Sunsets and sunrises amplify its beauty to an extent which can literally take your breath away.

Its and expensive city surrounded by water and water bus and to explore this place you have to walk a lot and get used to crowded water bus and plan out a strategy to push yourself in the water bus that is available.

How to reach and tickets to buy in Venice.

To reach venice by train from Milan take a high speed train , you will have to book seats in the train.

Water bus station is just outside the train station.

you can get a travel pass to avoid taking ticket and waiting in line for that very often at the Water bus ticket counter.

you can add the tickets for airport in the water bus pass combo. Read the pass information and choose from that, pass is affordable and smart way to travel in Venice.

Network is not at its best in many places in venice so make sure you download offline map on your phone and keep a list of water bus stops near your hostel/hotel.

There are many water bus services and most of them are covered in the venice tourist pass , not all the water bus stop at each location. Check the routes for the bus before you board.

Stay :

you can find many hostels and hotels around the city. But it's advisable to stay as close to city center as possible .

Checkout on booking.com many hostels are available near Rialto bridge it's a great place to stay due to its close proximity to bus stops and walkable distance from St. Mark's Square.

Piazza San Marco has been the heart of Venice for over a thousand years, and is home to many important buildings and landmarks, including St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. The square was the political and social center of the Venetian Republic.

The easiest way to reach Libreria Acqua Alta is by vaporetto (water bus). Take Line 1 or Line 4.1 to the Santa Maria Formosa stop, then follow the signs to the bookstore, which is just a few minutes' walk away. Alternatively, you can walk from the Rialto Bridge or St. Mark's Square in around 20-30 minutes.

The bookstore can get very crowded, especially during peak tourist season, so try to visit early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the crowds.

Finally, don't forget to climb the staircase made entirely of books, which leads to a small terrace with a view of the canal.

The Bridge of Sighs is a stunning example of Venetian Gothic architecture, and is named for the sighs that prisoners supposedly let out as they crossed the bridge on their way to the prison cells. You can admire the bridge from the outside, but it is not possible to cross the bridge itself.

San Giorgio Maggiore is home to several attractions, including the stunning San Giorgio Maggiore Church, which was designed by Andrea Palladio in the 16th century. On day 2 visit Murano and Burano for a day trip.

To reach Murano and Burano from Venice, you can take the vaporetto (water bus) Line 4.1 or 4.2 from Fondamente Nove. The vaporetto schedules can be found at the stations, but typically they run every 30 minutes or so during the day. You can purchase tickets at the ticket booth before boarding, or you can purchase a multiple-day pass if you plan to use the vaporetto frequently. Alternatively, you can take a tour boat or a private water taxi, but these options can be more expensive.

Morning:

Take the vaporetto from Fondamente Nove to Murano (10-15 minutes).

Explore the glass factories and workshops on the island, and visit the Glass Museum to learn more about the history of glassmaking.

Enjoy a coffee and pastry at one of the local cafes.

Afternoon:

Take the same vaporetto Line 4.1 or 4.2 from Murano to Burano (45 minutes).

Take a stroll through the colorful streets of Burano, admire the lace-making tradition, and visit the Lace Museum.

Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Evening:

Take the vaporetto back to Venice from Burano (around 45 minutes).

Take a sunset gondola ride along the Grand Canal, or explore the streets of Venice at night.

Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in Venice.
