Nature has its way of surprising us. It can be harsh and it can be rewarding. While earthquakes in Japan are a common affair, Japan blushes pink each year, displaying the benevolent side of nature. The cherry blossom season has hit us and this island country is aglow.

The cherry blossoms, or Sakura flowers, as locals call them, attract innumerable visitors from all over the world each year.

But this year, Mother Nature had a surprise in her pocket!

Hanami is the season of the cherry blossoms in Japan.

Considering its place in the Japanese culture, the Japan Meteorological Agency conducts an annual forecast of its arrival.

Due to higher temperatures in 2018, the baby pink blossoms have decided to bloom early this year.

This is one of the few rare cases where climate change has turned the country pink earlier than usual.

These gorgeous florets have filled the neighborhoods with pink hue and have turned the country pleasantly fragrant at an unexpected time.

Not that we are complaining.

One of the most popular spots to watch the pink glory is Shinjuku Gyoen. Close to Shinjuku Station, this place will satisfy your senses with more than 1,000 species of flowering cherry or Sakura trees.

The flowers spread across various parts of the country and these pictures are only a slice of the blissful wonder!
