Named after the Spanish colonists in 1776 ,who established a fort at the golden gate and a mission named for St. Francis of Assisi, which is a few miles away. This city is the headquarters for the world wide famous company ' Levi's' jeans, founded by Levi Strauss in 1853.

I visited this city when I was very young and many times after as it has amazed me always! This city-cum-county, nicknamed as 'the city by the Bay' , is known for many exciting highlights. For the tourist convenience, there is an international airport in the city, and there is food available for people around the globe. People can accommodate from motel to hotel, according to their budget. The city is tourist-friendly. Your trip can even expand to 1 month ,if it fits your pocket! Basically, you can see much of the city by one week. Happy touring!
