1. Cape Comorin - Kanyakumari

The southernmost town in mainland India, it is sometimes referred to as the Land's End. Lying at the tip of peninsular India, it is the confluence of the Arabian sea, the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean. The main attractions of the beach are Ram Sethu's viewpoint and Adam's Bridge, which was said to be constructed by the army of monkeys for Lord Rama according to Hindu Legend. The Dhanushkodi beach is said to be not safe for those who cannot swim as the surf is above twelve feet at certain points. Rameshwaram is accessible by air, railways, and roadways. It is well connected by rail with cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Thanjavur, and Trichy. The nearest airport is in Madurai, 163 km. If you are traveling from some distant location then taking a flight will be the best decision.

Summer would be quite hot and humid but the evenings are pleasant with a cool breeze. Mahabalipuram usually requires one full day to visit the most important attractions. Several tourists usually prefer visiting Mahabalipuram along with Kanchipuram or Pondicherry which requires an additional one day for Kanchipuram and 1-2 days for Pondicherry. There are several wonderful places near Mahabalipuram like Chidambaram, Vellore & Tiruvannamalai that can be visited with an additional day for each place. Places to visit in Mahabalipuram like Mahabalipuram Beach, Shore Temple, Arjuna's Penance, Mandapams / Caves, Pancha Rathas, and Krishna's Butter Ball. Kanchipuram requires 1-2 days to visit the most important attractions like Kailasanathar Temple, The Vaikunta Perumal Temple, Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple, and Kumarakottam Temple. There are several wonderful destinations around Alwar like Mahabalipuram, Vellore, Pondicherry, and Chennai which can be visited by adding a few additional days to the trip. Kanchipuram is famous for Silk Sarees, one can buy these sarees at best rates as compared to any other location. There are regular trains and buses from other major cities of the country to Kanchipuram.

9. Queen of Hills - Ooty

One can kickstart the Ooty holiday with a local breakfast and a trip to Pykara Lake, Boat House, and Pykara Waterfalls. After a quick lunch, head to Doddabetta Peak and get a bird's eye view of the hill station. Kodaikanal is referred to as the "Princess of Hill stations". Kodaikanal is a serene hill station that offers surreal panoramic views of the surrounding environs. With top-class scenery, the climatic conditions of Kodaikanal make it more special, The temperatures are cool throughout the year due to the high elevation of the city. So one can easily plan a visit whenever they want. Apart from it, each season in Kodaikanal gives you a different experience. Kodaikanal is famous for its scenic beauty which includes green cultivated hills, clear rivers like Pambar, powerful waterfalls like Kumbakkarai Falls, Viewpoints like Moir Viewpoint, Lakes like Kodaikanal Lake which is a star-shaped man-made lake. If we compare, there's no clear winner in Ooty vs Kodaikanal battle. Both are really good places to visit down South. For budget travelers, Kodai can be a better choice than Ooty. A lesser rush of tourists is another factor to choose Kodai over Ooty. By Air, Madurai International Airport is the nearest to Kodai. Regular bus services are available from Major cities and easily accessible by road.
