The Independence Day long weekend is coming up and you have got yourself 4 holidays, now that's a treat for all of the corporate slaves out there. But where should you go to in these 4 days.

Well worry not fellow travellers we have got it covered for you, here is a list to top destination that you can cover from Delhi coming long weekend from 12 th August to 15 th August.

Udaipur-Mt Abu

Udaipur is just an hour flight away from Delhi or if you want you can take the overnight train from Delhi on 11 th (Friday) night and reach Udaipur in morning and enjoy the royalty the city has to offer. You will have plenty of places to see in Udaipur. Monsoon Palace, Bagore ki Haveli and the Lake Palace are top of the list. If you want a little more than palaces and royalty, you can visit Mt Abu for its beautiful mountains and lakes, by giving it a day of the long weekend.

Possible itinerary:

11 th August night: Delhi to Udaipur

12 th August: Spend the day in Udaipur

13 th August: Enjoy the morning in Udaipur, leave for Mount Abu in the afternoon by a bus, reach there by late evening

14 th August: Sightseeing in Mount Abu

15 th August: Mount Abu to New Delhi.

Dalhousie/Khajjiar

Nestled in Chamba, Dalhousie is covered with mighty Pir Panjal ranges. It has traces of the colonial rule; you can stay in the British Raj mansion and enjoy the misty mountains. Apart from Dalhousie there is an option to see the lush green meadows of Khajjiar.

11 th August night: Delhi to Dalhousie (by bus/taxi)

12 th August: Spend the day in Dalhousie

13 th August: Enjoy the morning in Dalhousie, leave for Khajjiar, stay overnight in Khajjiar

14 th August: Come back to Dalhousie, enjoy the evening there.

15 th August: Dalhousie to New Delhi.

Palampur/Dharamshala/Mcleodganj

Kangra valley is known for its beauty and places like Palampur and Dharamshala, are the best places to experience that. Palampur is a beautiful small town with tea plantations and pine tree forests which leaves the air around here scented with pine fragrance. Dharamshala and Mcleodganj are located in the Dhauladhar range. Not only the nature but you can explore the Tibetian culture while in Mcleodganj, it is known as Little lhasa because of the exile tibetian government.

11 th August night: Delhi to Palampur(by bus/taxi)

12 th August: Spend the day in Palampur, enjoy the delightful sights.

13 th August: Leave for Dharamshala in the morning, stay in Dharmshala for few hours and head for Mcleodganj in evening. Enjoy the local restaurants and placees in the night.

14 th August: Trek to triund and return back (or camp overnight).

15 th August: Explore a bit of Mcleodganj and head to New Delhi.

Tirthan Valley

A small hamlet located in the Great Himalayan National Park, is an unexplored place full of the Himalayan flora and fauna. Located at 544 kms from Delhi would be the perfect destination for the long weekend. You can visit waterfalls, see pristine lake, go fishing, indulge in adventures or trek around Jalori pass. This place would be perfect for the whole family or for couples.

Possible itinerary

11 th August night: Delhi to Aut (by bus/taxi). From Aut to Tirthan (taxi)

12 th August: Rest half the day in your beautiful village homes and explore the nearby places in the Great Himalayan national park.

13 th August: Local Sightseeing of the Waterfall, indulge in activites like river crossing or fishing trout in the river.

14 th August: Visit Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake.

15 th August: Tirthan to New Delhi.

Chandraltal/Kunzum pass

A high altitude lake located in the Spiti valley, offers the best view of the upper Himalayas. 360 degrees of snow-capped mountains and a pristine blue lake right in the middle is the best view you can have this long weekend. You can view the galaxy and all the cosmic glitters in the night sky with your naked eyes. With exception view during the journey, this would be the best option for the weekend.

11 th August night: Delhi to Manali (by bus/taxi).

12 th August: Reach Manali, Enjoy the local sights and rest.

13 th August: Leave early morning for Chandratal, cross Rohtang pass rich the lake by mid-day. Enjoy the view, go till the lake.

14 th August: Visit the lake once again, go to Kunzum pass and return to Manali.

15 th August: Manali to New Delhi.
