The two couple bedrooms and one twin room, with floor to ceiling glass windows, open into lush green lawns overlooking the plains. Kids can pitch a tent in the lawn under the twinkling stars. While you can step out and explore the quaint little town of Coonoor, but staying back at the villa and watching hills magically appear and disappear in the famous 'Nilgiri' blue haze is also equally, if not more, fulfilling. So if you’re planning a weekend to Netflix and Chill or a small workation (there is wifi available here), The Xanadu in Coonoor could just be where you might head to.

Xanadu Birdsong, Coonoor
Just 6 kms on the outskirts of Coonoor, bordering a reserve forest, lies a fairy tale villa overlooking the valley. With two east-facing double bedrooms, you can welcome the sun from your bed, or lounge on the wrap around deck with birdsong for company. Birders and nature enthusiasts, here’s a chance for you to photograph the birds of the Nilgiris that frequent the garden and the adjoining woods. The location of the villa is a sweet spot between being secluded and being marooned. Ooty and Kotagiri are short drives away, should you want to venture out.

The Xanadu Meghadhootam, Kodaikanal
For that get together of cousins, or a small friends group reunion, this abode on the clouds is your perfect getaway. Tucked away in the quiet quarters of upper Kodaikanal, these twin villas, each with 3 bedrooms, offers a panoramic view of the valley. A family suite inclusive of a twin room, and a double bedroom in each of the villas can easily accommodate 12 adults. To keep your group occupied, there is enough to be done at the Meghadhootam. The activity room is well appointed with a TT table, a carrom board and other board games. If a little adventure is on your mind, then a hike in the pear orchard in the property premises is a good idea. And for more picturesque views of the valley, you could head to the View Point perched a little above the villa.

The Xanadu Birkenhead, Kodaikanal
This intimate and stylish two-bedroom villa is a just a few steps away from The Xanadu Meghadhootam, with a panoramic view of the valley. In fact, for group sizes of 15 – 16 people, both the properties can be booked simultaneously. You could either spend the day lounging on the verandah that stretches through the length of the house or hike around the pear orchard. And on chilly nights, the staff will be glad to set up a bonfire for you on the lawns. The guests will need to climb a short flight of steps to access the rooms, hence people with mobility issues could opt for the Meghadhootam.
