It was an awsome weekend get away . The trip to "GOLDEN CITY" Amritsar, in Punjab.
The highlights of the trip are obviously Golden temple and Wagah border.
1.Golden temple:
The temple is so mesmerizing and the holy atmosphere over there is so relaxing, everyone should must visit there for some peaceful time. The food served over there is known as lungar and available throughout the day. The prashad halwa is also delicious. It takes care of everything of the devotees who come over there as they have facilities for keeping shoes and bags.
2. Jalianwala bagh
Located near the golden temple it is also a significant place for visit as its stories go back to the independence struggle time. The time over there makes you to go back in time and you could virtually see everything happened over there. It was good to see that they have kept the historic place intact.
3. Partition museum
It is located in front some lane of the jalianwala bagh. Have some of the exhibits of the partition time.
4. Wagah Border
The ideal time to visit wagah border is in evening. The retreat ceremony by BSF soldiers would be taking place in the evening from 5pm-7pm. There would be heavy rush here on weekends and public holidays. Watching the retreat ceremony brings a sort of Josh and patriotism in everyone's heart. Please make sure that you only say "bharath mathi ki jai", any other usage may lead you to problem.Please ensure you have vehicle to go back also because after retreat ceremony it's difficult to get any vehicle from here.
The best way to explore amritsar is in hop on hop off bus which you can get near the partition museum and fare for it is also less.
