Waking up to see the sunrise from the grasslands of awesome Assam with the single horned creatures grazing around, wouldn't it be an exciting way to start your day?
Well just to add some spice to it I did it in a bit different way. I was on an official trip to Guwahati in the month of February 2019. With my habit of exploring the near by places I found out that Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary homes more than 100 single horned rhinoceros, wild boars and bisons.
With the help of Google I managed to get the contact details of Bike Rental Services in the city of Guwahati. A day before my trip to Pobitora I hired a scooter for myself. The next day I woke up at 4am in the morning with the help of the alarm. Started my rented scooter and set the navigation to Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. In few minutes I was out of the city and the buildings that were surrounding the road were replaced by paddy fields and huge trees. I reached Pobitora by 5:30am and was very much excited to meet these single horned creatures grazing around the grasslands of Assam.
I paid the entry fee and waited for the safari to start. Soon two local guys working in the Sanctuary headed towards me asked me to follow them. That is when the whole magical experience started. It turned out that I was the only person for the safari that morning. I felt so lucky that I will be enjoying this whole experience all for myself. The safari started and went on for more than an hour. I went speechless by looking at the way these creatures live in harmony. They were all awake even before the sun could rise. Wild boars, bisons and the magnificent single horned rhinoceros is all you will get to see at Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.
