Bali is like my yearly pilgrimage trip! And, I honestly cannot wait to visit Bali for the fourth time! A place that offers everything from party to yoga, from cocktails to coconut water, from sunsets to mountain hikes and from cheap private villas to luxurious resorts - count me in!

And, now every year I have to go to Bali to find my soul (it's just an excuse guys), and attain peace of mind! Since I live in Singapore, it is closer from here for me, it's like my version of Goa (except no one can replace the fish thali you get in Goa).

The Waterfalls in Bali are right inside the jungle and once you reach there, it's like you are in nature's true paradise!

Just like every year I had planned a trip with my friends to go in March 2020, but thanks to the pandemic, it stands cancelled, just like all the other trips. And, here I am, living in the past, hoping the future opens the airport gates soon and I can sit on the beach sipping my glass of mojito, and watch the sunset. Some of the best things about Bali that I miss are - food, drinks, my decision to either be a yogi or an outgoing person in every trip, and staying in the best resorts but at an amazing price!

Chilling in the evening after a long day in a Pool Side Cafe in Ubud

Every time I visit Bali, I come across new cafes, restaurants and spots to discover. It's that happy place my soul loves to revisit again and again! And, that's exactly why it is one of the top 5 best countries out of the 35 countries I have visited on my list. Some of the best areas in Bali which are worth visiting/staying at are - Seminyak, Ubud, Nusa Dua, Kuta, Nusa Penida, Uluwatu and Canggu. Although, after staying in all of these above places, Ubud is my personal favourite!

I miss the little hidden cozy cafes, which serve all the healthy food, the yoga studios, and swimming whilst being surrounded by the lush forests and the sound of birds!

3. Exploring the Balinese temples - The temples in Bali are Hindu temples, resonating a lot of what we have in India, but the deity idols and worshipping is totally different to what we see in India. Irrespective of the religion and the differences, the temples are very serene and calming, and end of the day, it's all about the good intentions right?

4. Visiting the waterfalls Surrounded by the Forest - This experience was so surreal! I love nature and getting away from the buzzing city that I live in, and that's exactly why this place makes me feel so special. Some of the waterfalls that we discovered are hidden and known less to the tourists.

Recommendations: Tibumana Waterfall, Kanto Lampo Waterfall, Tegenungan Waterfall, Leke Leke Waterfall, Bunutin Waterfall

It is best to visit the waterfalls in late afternoon as they are not vert crowded.

5. Go to affordable spas with the best service! - Need I say more? For me, a spa is extremely important when I am on a holiday, especially in a place like Bali or Thailand where you get both service and great rate!

Recommendations: Song Spa & Yoga, Tjampuhan Spa, Taksu Ubud Spa, Karsa Spa, Karma Kandara
