There are places that make your heart skip a beat and then there are places that make it sing. The Bubble Hotel, Nunggalan, Uluwatu was a place that did both. Nestled amidst mountains lined by the sea as clouds float by merrily, it introduced me to the ‘under-my-skin’ kind of natural beauty of Bali. It was riveting to experience it in a remote location, away from the hustle and bustle of popular tourist spots, so much that I already miss waking up to the orange sky of Bali. Here are 8 reasons why Bubble Hotel should be on your to-go list while in Bali:
1. Explore the best of Bali by living inside a transparent bubble
As the name suggests, the Bubble Hotel provided me a transparent bubble as accommodation. It was spacious and designed to provide an experience of a lifetime. Right from poster beds decorated with sequin bedding ideal for a romantic photo shoot to the warm light reflecting off of the surface of the bubble, I couldn’t resist being amazed as I walked the stone pathway towards my bubble. Amidst bamboo fencing and greenery, it welcomed me with a stunning interior and a bed that looked too comfortable. In close proximity to the beach with an orange-pink sky as backdrop, I felt like I owned the coastline.
2. Enjoy the dream-like setting
Every time I stared at the sky outside, I felt like I was in a dream. The mountains surrounding the property were embraced by floating clouds that drifted with the wind. The pink of the sky and the waves of the beach looked like a stunning painting. While sitting on a comfortable lounge chair, sipping on my green tea,I really felt like I was living a good life!
3. Touch the clouds
Bubble Hotel left no stone unturned to offer me unique experiences. Right across my bubble was a swing which could make me touch the misty clouds. The bamboo bars holding the swing together, the greenery and the breathtaking view made me smile as I leaped towards the clouds.
4. Bali hammock with a twist by the sea
As if the swing wasn’t enough, there were hammocks at regular intervals near the sea. Once I was done walking on the beach, feeling the warm sand between my toes, I sat on the hammock to rest. It slowly moved to the wind as I took in everything around me, feasting on the view and breathing in the fresh air.
5. Live near the clouds, sea and mountains
Bubble Hotel is located within an area with floating clouds, sea and mountains. In the peace and quiet of this remote location, I was taken over by nature and could feel myself healing and rejuvenating with every passing day. The sound of the waves washing over the shore, the starlit skies, the green mountains and crackling bonfires at night made my heart flutter.
6. Visit the beach which has sea shells like never before
A short walk away from my bubble was the beach. Collecting unique seashells on the beach was fun. I spent a lot of time taking pictures of these shells as many other guests chatted excitedly around me. There are many seashell galleries around Bali that will showcase unique seashells. What’s more amazing than being able to collect these shells all on your own? Every cent I spent on this hotel was returned to me tenfold this way. I went back to my bubble, soaked and sandy, took a shower under my bamboo concealed showerhead and ended my day on a happy note.
7. Sleep under starry skies
The night sky was full of stars. When I looked up from the roof of my transparent bubble, the stars blinked back at me. It reminded me poems and made me think of the wonderful universe that’s out there beyond our hectic lives. Star gazing through a telescope was a different experience altogether. It was something we can never have while living in a bustling metropolis. That is why I was able to appreciate its magic even more.
In fact, the owner Felix Demin is said to have started the property because he wanted lovers to have a place where they could have deep conversations. He had once planned a perfect date for his girlfriend on a secluded beach with rose petals, bonfire, hand cooked food, and a lot of other unique experiences which took time for him to plan. He wanted other couples to have a similar experience with more ease and he came up with the idea of Bubble Hotel.
8. Live away from humanity
I was completely disconnected from the world while I was at the beach. No Wi-Fi meant I wasn’t on my social media posting pictures. I was more into what I was experiencing and feeling while I stayed there. It was the most important aspect of my trip because I could reconnect with myself while being close to nature and away from stressful factors.
I highly recommend that you experience the bliss that Bubble Hotel provides. As a solo traveler, I was able to have the time of my life in a safe and serene place without any hassles. The bubble hotel was my favorite stop while I took in the many colors of Bali, definitely something that makes me want to go back.
