Top 7 Places to visit in Chennai

In today's Article I am about to explore

The gateway of south India, Chennai

I've tried to cover as many places as possible

So without wasting any time let's begin this Article..

The first place I went to was Kapaleeshwarar temple

This temple was built in 7th century in Dravidian architecture

And whether you are a religious person or just a tourist like me...

...you simply can't ignore this place

After Kapaleeshwarar temple, I headed straight to yet another historical landmark of Chennai...

Santhome Cathedral

This church was built in the 16th century by Portuguese explorers

In the 18th century, it was rebuilt as a church with the status of a cathedral by the British

Santhome cathedral is a perfect location for peace and tranquility amidst the bustling city

Next, I headed to Ratna cafe for lunch

my trip would have been incomplete without dosa and filter coffee

After my lunch, I went to Madras High Court

Also, the public transportation in Chennai is so safe, easy and Convenient...

that you won't need private cabs or tuk tuks to get around the city

Madras high court is equally popular among locals and tourists

and I feel it's because of its distinct red colour :p

This complex was built in the late 18th century

and it is still the second largest judicial complex in the world

Madras high court is a perfect combination of politics, history & culture

and no one should miss this place

the sun was about to set, so I headed straight to The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse offers bird's eye view of Marina beach and the entire city

And the best time to visit this place is in the evening (before sunset)

And I ended my trip at India's longest natural urban beach - Marina Beach

Marina beach can be an ideal place for families & friends looking for some fun in the evening
