Day 1

This was the day my husband and i were celebrating our 3rd marriage anniversary. We woke up at 5 am and straight away mounted up everything on our bike. Yes this time we are going for a bike trip.. location.. my husband’s favourite holiday spot.. Goa!! At first i was like we have been to Goa so many times lets check out some other place.. but then Goa maybe a small place but offers never ending explore options. I got to know, at the same time of our trip we can get a chance to see Goa Carnival also. So, i said yes to Goa and the next thing i knew we were packing saddle bags. What is so different about this trip that i am writing a separate post about it. Well first thing it was bike trip.. second it was a wild trip as in we never made hotel bookings as we wanted to explore things like backpackers.. wanted to stay in hostels and stuff.. well this was my idea.

So, we left from our place early morning in dark and we took our first break near Satara at sunrise.Had breakfast there and left for our next destination. We were planning to stop near Kolhapur but we were not tired so we just stopped by road side for a water break . Next we know we were at a restaurant near Nipani, it was 11am so we decided not to rush and took a break there for 1 hour. As we started our last stretch of journey we saw some work in progress which we were scared will be in this whole stretch, but luckily it was just for a few kms. I saw some barns near roadside and decided i want a pic there in that scorching sun. My husband was pissed maybe..who cares..bike trip was his idea anyways.

After taking some shots there we went ahead and by the time we reached Amboli it was so hot that we had to stop at the ghat.. after some rest we again mounted up but again by the time we reached sawantwadi i started loosing it and my husband had to calm me down with 1 glass of lassi and 1 juice. So i calmed down a bit and we decided where should we head and it was decided that first day should be in arambol. We took a different route which connects to arambol and we dont have to cross whole Goa..by 2 pm we were in Arambol, went to a hostel put our stuff there and straight away we hit the beach.

Arambol is our favourite place in whole Goa. We spent our remaining day there.

Day 2

Next day i asked my husband i want to go and see a fort nearby. He said okay to it and we jumped onto our bike. The map was showing a long route but i somehow knew that there should be ferry which will be a shorter route. So we took a route based on the information that we gathered and we reached the spot and from some distance we were able to see a ferry ready to leave for the fort. I asked my husband to hurry up and we directly mounted our bike on the ferry. This place is not so known to travellers so one can only find local people or some foreigners there. The water was also very very clear we literally could see fishes clearly. In next 5 mins we were at the other side and from there we went uphill straight to the tiracol fort. We reached there early and it was closed for visitors so we thought to explore nearby places. We could see a hidden beach so beautifully covered by trees and we could find only some foreigners there like 10-12 people only.

We went ahead to see what more is hidden in goa and to our surprise after 7 km we entered Maharashtra border. We came back again and fort was open now. The whole fort is now converted into a hotel but we stopped at the cafeteria and enjoyed the view from up there.

After coming back we packed our stuff and left for Anjuna. We booked a hostel there which was truely Goan style. We went to explore Anjuna beach and market after some rest. We went to shiva valley and the food was awesome there. I wanted to take a dip in water but the beach in anjuna is rocky so we decided to enjoy the view from upper deck of shiva valley.

After some delicious food we went to explore other famous cafes in anjuna. Eva cafe is one of them which offers a beautiful view, hippy ambience and great food.

For dinner we went at this awesome place by the beach near anjuna flea market road. The music, the food was superb. Moreover due to hi- tide the waves were coming till the boundary of this place and we could hear the soothing and scary sound of ocean at the same time.

Day 3

This was the day when we wanted to stay by the beach the whole day. So we left for candolim. The first place we booked tried to scam us once we reached there. He tried to charge us extra amount but we have been in goa so many times that all these tricks were useless. We straight away booked a different place and better one. This place was just near the candolim beach. We put out stuff there and i liked the place so much that we planned to spend 2 days there. So, we left for the beach and spent whole day there. For dinner we went to baga beach. All in all this was our rest day.

Day 4

Today was the day when Goan carnival will begin. This is a 3 day celebration. It starts at evening so i took my hubby for shopping. Bought a goan shirt for him. I was asking him to buy one everytime we come to Goa but this time i was not gonna ask him. Bought a shirt and asked him to put it on straight away. Then we went to BONO’s for some snacks and lunch. At noon we left from condolim to panji. The whole city was jammed and packed. We had to park our bikes 2 kms away. We walked with the carnival and enjoyed each and every show the locals put up. It was awesome. We were there for more than 2 hrs. We headed back to the villa in candolim and wanted to take proper rest as next day we had to travel.

And next day early morning we left for Pune. All in all one can never get tired of GOA, you will always find something new to do there. And if anyone get a chance then one must go for the carnival.
